I advocated this exact line up on Friday, but he won't be able to use it against a lefty, so guys like Foster and chinea will have to step up.

Why are you so damn worried about typos? I meant teams
"Games" instead of "teams" is not a typo. I couldn't figure out if you were trying to say the other team out hit us in 12 out of 14 of our wins.

Stop being such a hot head, George.

so you think the HC should adopt his lineup "by consensus". surely you can see clearly this AM and repent.

I was seeing clearly this AM when I posted it. Nothing to repent for. I'm suggesting that yesterday's lineup looked a whole lot better, numbers wise, than many he's thrown out there this year.

As I've said, I think that the L/R matchup game is overrated. It very valuable as a tool when evaluating individuals, not as a general rule.

A shutout win to take the series on the road is big. If you're looking for a "pivotal" game, I'd say it was on Thursday. If the Tigers burn Nola and Broussard and come away without a win, that would have been very demoralizing.

I meant to type teams, not games. I made a typographical error. Wikipedia defines a typo as...

quote:

A typographical error (often shortened to typo) is a mistake made in the typing process (such as spelling, or leaving out a word)[2] of printed material. Historically, this referred to mistakes in manual type-setting (typography). The term includes errors due to mechanical failure or slips of the hand or finger,[2] but excludes errors of ignorance, such as spelling errors. Before the arrival of printing, the "copyist's mistake" or "scribal error" was the equivalent for manuscripts. Most typos involve simple duplication, omission, transposition, or substitution of a small number of characters.

You're ridiculously anal retentive to make people go to such lengths to make their points with you. I hope you realize the vast majority don't concede points to you. They just aren't named Dr. Doolittle, and either haven't mastered how to (or don't bother to learn how to) functionally communicate with jackasses.

My guess is you're way too old to change this and I'm sure you have recognized the behavior pattern before. Sad that communicating with you requires such quibbling. Especially for someone so bright. But when having a baseball conversation with someone ends with another person feeling like they have to haggle with a fricking used car salesman, it's just a sense of what is worth your time and what isn't.

Baseball talk with you isn't worth the utter annoyance of your Clintonian-Whitewater-Starr-Report-esque parsing of the English language against others in order to express themselves. Especially when you do it on purpose.

We are in the middle of an sec race so that win was pivotal. Turn what corner? we are in the race for the west/sec right now. We still didn't hit.

The word pivotal can mean important and in that sense it was clearly a pivotal game. But it also implies a turning point and I don't see much changing going forward.

We'll still need outstanding pitching to win games.

It proved this team can win on the road. It was pivital mostly for that reason, IMO.

I at least we see a change in the way we pitch Sunday. I think that game proved that LSU can throw out 5 relievers rather than try and depend on one of our starters that are misfiring.

That's a big enough change for me to believe this team can win all 4 of the remaining series.

We've won our last three series all against great teams, so I don't know if you could say this win was the "start" of a great run. It continues the run we're on.
That's actually a very good point.

quality pitching will absolutely handcuff us in the postseason

Soooooo, we haven't faced quality pitching in the last three series we won?

Pivotal. Yes. Shutting out a top 25 team on the road with Johnny Pitching Staff is impressive. 3 of the 4 remaining series are against weaker teams in the SEC. The team has had a great April thus far and should continue to shine at The Box this weekend against the Volunteers. See y'all out there. Geaux Tigers!
