Pretty much what I said earlier

I am biased because I currently am fortunate enough to walk the stately oaks to class, but I would hope his family makes it perfectly clear what he's about to pass up.

I have never been in his shoes of "chasing the MLB dream", but I hope he's fully aware of the memories he'll miss passing up on LSU. Personally I also think it should be clearer since his family is financially sound.

being almost 30 myself, i have different priorities in life now and look at things differently than I did 5-10 years ago. Yes, money is important, as you need money to do many of the things you enjoy and to support your family; however, the amount of money necessary to achieve that will differ from person to person obviously, so you can't just assign a definite number to that.

I had plenty of friends that, after graduation, became obsessed with climbing the corporate ladder and worked endless hours without ever being able to enjoy life for what it is, and many of them look back now and regret all they missed out on. There are just some things in life that you can't put a price tag on and that are equally, many times more, important than a bigger bottom line.

It's hard to really see that as an 18 year old kid straight out of high school, and I can totally understand how an 18 year old would have a really hard time turning down millions of dollars, and if you look at it strictly from the perspective of his baseball career, it makes sense. However, for me, if someone is meant to be a baseball player, they will be. But you're only a college aged kid once, and if you have the opportunity to experience college, as many people don't have that chance, you should absolutely take it.

Baseball will always be there if it's meant to be, but being an 18-22 year old college student won't be. If nothing else, college gives you the chance to grow into an adult instead of throwing yourself into the fire right out of high school. I know I was nowhere near mature or enough or ready to be solely responsible for myself at 18, never mind trying to manage millions of dollars when, prior to that, I doubt I ever had more than $500-1000 in my bank account at any one given time. With my fiscal responsibility at 18, I'd have spent that signing bonus in a couple years

As in, Aiken's situation is 50-50. If he signs for whatever it is the Astros actually want, it means Marshall's number will also be met.

All that tells me is that they have been on contact with him like I thought. It all still depends on what Aiken does.

I read it, didn't take long at all. I am still at LSU, but I am in complete agreement with him. i remember being 18 and couldn't fathom the idea of being thrown out into the real world as quickly as him

Seems like at this point we're crossing our fingers Aiken says no. Otherwise, he's going to sign in a timely manner as he's friends with mac too.
