I still remember that 18 inning bullshite game. I hope Berkman dies a slow death.

It also helps more when the kid grows up in the area following the local teams with their local friends. Not the case for mac

I feel like we're in a countdown thread right now.
17 hours, 51 minutes...

It just seems like such a flash in the pan in the grand scheme of things (and after taxes too).
it's why I'd probably make my kid go play at Stanford

Eh, I've already resigned myself to it.

Well make him commit to Stanford before he signs that pro contract after high school ball so he can get that all paid for too.

Or he could go play minor league ball, and it doesnt work out, go back to stanford and get the degree
Posted on 7/17/14 at 10:19 pm to josh336
A large percentage of our fan base believes if a kid goes to play minor league ball out of high school they will never be allowed to step foot on any college campus for the rest of their life.

Or the guys who leave after year 3...

I'm not implying that at all, but to go back to college when you're , say, 23 is a completely different attitude and experience

But what does it hurt? You know the draft rules. You know nothing is in stone until the deadline passes. Mainieri was simply saying what we all have been thinking about his potential here.

Yes, I still am. That was Smoltz, Chipper, Andruw, and Cox's last chance at a title, and it was stolen by a team of roiders. Thank God they got swept by A.J. Pierzynksie and the Chicago White Sox.

Posted on 7/17/14 at 10:40 pm to TigerCub
