Yeah if that’s the case then every Texas A&M player should be ineligible

Could this not have been pushed back to week 2? You know, when we aren’t playing a top 10 team

It was an autograph signing before NIL went live. He was out all last year so couldn't serve his suspension.

Matt Moscona
@MattMoscona
UPDATE: Multiple sources have confirmed Maason Smith and Kayshon Boutte participated in an autograph signing in the summer of 2021 prior to NIL going live.
Boutte served a one game suspension during the 2022 season. He missed the New Mexico game for the birth of his son and the UAB game for—what Brian Kelly said was—the flu. Smith would have served his suspension last year also but was injured.
The NCAA made LSU aware Smith would serve the suspension in the season opener earlier this summer.

If losing him is the determining factor in the outcome of the game, LSU had no chance to begin with.

I would love to know what it is that he received. I imagine it was during last year and the NCAA dragged this just to frick us again.

Florida State is going to go in dry against this defense. Hope our offense can win a shootout

If so, that's still ridiculous. Need to move on. Also, he played in game one, so when was it going to be served? During a lesser opponent?

So whatever "improper benefit" he received was not bad enough to suspend him for multiple games.
Didn't A&M recruit almost a whole class with "improper benefits"?
Is this the NCAA trying to justify their existence?

Tell the NCAA to go pound sand.
