LSU already picked up Braswell SS

And? Braswell can switch to 2B then. It'll be an open competition for the MI spots.

Hill was just in Omaha wearing purple and gold rooting on the tigers. He wants his family to watch him play, grandparents included. Driving to the box every weekend>>>>>Oxford

Kling White Neal are starters. Everything else is competition.

All I’ll say is there was an issue with Dugas during recruiting prior to freshman year. I’m not even sure why. Had he have joined team Dugas was transferring. Dugas’ parents made the threat. Was told to wait until he graduated and could transfer if he chose to. He’s supposed to be LSU bound sophomore season. I know the kid and family well.

I don't believe this one bit. LSU signed two other options at 2nd last year, both were lost to the draft. No chance Dugas was leaving if Hill was coming to LSU last year.

Looks like Neal, Milazzo, and Travinski will be on the team next year. Neal is talented, but the catcher spot will be competitive.

If Hill wants in you take him and figure that shite out later. If someone else is scared of wide open competition then so be it. Everyone should have a chance at MI.

The part about Dugas and last year is true.

Would love to have him here. Since entering the portal he’s spoken to CJJ but was asked to play at 2B. He is a SS and said no thanks. Hill is looking elsewhere because he is and should be a starter. No real competition there with Braswell. Come back and talk to me after he announces.

You could say CJJ missed out here but it was out of his control. Covid year recruiting and a bunch of personal BS with Dugas and family. Don’t know why they don’t like him other than maybe Hill is the better athlete?

Parents never lie about why their kids don’t play/weren’t given a spot, especially not baseball parents.

Neal won the job as a barely 18-year-old true freshman. The only thing that will keep him from winning the job again is injury.

We've seen what guys having full buy-in can do for a team. If he's not on board with that, then he doesn't need to be here.

Caught every game too, even midweek. Which was a surprise to me.

.317 might be better than .246 but is it really when .317 was in the PAC-12?

Yeah, that mitigates it some, but not .071. Also, JT had more power, so that mitigates it more. I'd say they are close to equal at the plate with an edge to the ASU guy. And he is a better fielder. Definitely would be a small upgrade.

But does he really? JT had 8hrs, 6hrs, and 11hrs this year.
Luke had 6hrs last year.

If you look at conference only in the PAC 12, he hit .250 with a .701 OPS. and 3 HR. Thompson hit .254 in the SEC with a .890 OPS and 7 HR. Have to remember he was a Freshman and Thompson was a Junior but Thompson also did it in a tougher conference.

Not that it really matter to compare him to Thompson with Thompson leaving. However, when you look at the stats it doesn't stand out big time for Hill so you could see why they may make the decision to pass on him and not step on any current players toes.

I’m pretty sure the fielding percentage posted for Hill would’ve been the lowest in the SEC so I wouldn’t call it an upgrade. He’s young so he hopefully gets better with that

I agree mostly but you have to take into consideration most west coast fields are larger and small ball is prevalent.

There was no “buying in”. LSU essentially does not have a position for him. I agree he doesn’t need to be here if he’s doing what he believes is best for himself in working to make it to the MLB. He wants to play SS. There’s nothing more to it.

Larger field is true. He only had 1 sac bunt all year though.

I really don't care whether he comes or not, I'm just mostly trying to give the people who are saying he is absolute takes reasons why he may not be.

If he was Braden Montgomery/Tommy White type of player then you take no matter what the roster numbers are. This case may play more into looking at roster numbers and passing. That is all I've been trying to say.

How in the world is ss already locked down with Braswell who got benched with South Carolina or Guidry who was pitching all year?
