That's clearly the challenge. Even our best hitter have struggled with guys on base.

Cranford I think has the capability to get better at situational hitting as the season goes on. Just like last year, as he's played more his at bats have gotten better. I don't mean he will start hitting for a high average, but hitting behind the runner, putting the ball in play when needed, etc. It's not something we have a lot of guys looking to do, but he strikes me as a guy capable of contributing in that way.

Also, when is the right time to put Crews in CF?

Remember when Coleman got tagged several times game 1 of CWS 09 finals?

Solo homes don’t seem to kill you. Crooked numbers do.

I don't think he needs to slide there Bianco has it locked down

189 left on base

Morgan
Crews
Beloso
Doughty
Dugas
Drost/Gio/Sanford
Thompson
Milazzo
Arnold

I don't have an issue with Crews leading off (he's our Ronald Acuna) but the 2-hole is a good spot for him as well and it separates the lefties Morgan and Beloso.

I have Beloso 3rd because it's the spot most likely to bat with 0 on, 2 outs. It's the least important "top spot". So far this year, he's been the biggest rally killer because he keeps coming up with 2 outs and runners on base. But his on-base skills have been very good despite a lack of hits or power.

Get Milazzo out of the 9-hole so the top of the lineup has a better chance of driving runners in. I'd rather slot the CF into this spot but I think they're all lefties. Don't want to make it that easy for the opposing team when it comes to the late innings.

This is a symptom of a young team. We will get it together soon and be ready for the SEC tournament.

Texas had five home runs that game and still lost (all solo home runs). Freakin brutal

y'all just need to forget about what happened in pre conference play

The lineup does have potential. Not saying it’s as simple as putting guys in the right order will realize the potential. Most of them are young. Hate to throw out the old cliche but, they should be pretty good next year and the year after.

Hopefully no one transfers.

But 5 solo homers? Don’t know if Coleman gave up all 5 of them.

Yes, i agree. Should be formidable next year.

I dont think this year shows much promise though against relevant SEC teams

In SEC games only:
Batting average 9th
Slugging pct. 5th
On base 9th
Runs scored 11th
Hits 7th
RBIs 10 th
Doubles 12th
Triples none
Homers 4th
Walks 9th
HBP 7th
Ks. First
Sac bunts first
Sac flies none
Stolen bases 10th
Steal attempts last
GIDP second

We don’t get as many RBIs as we want because we don’t get as many on base as we’d like, we aren’t good in situations except we bunt a lot and we have too many unproductive outs(strikeouts).

Thanks for doing this. It seemed like too many runs scored depended on home runs.
I calculate 42% of the runs scored has been by the home run.

Crews is the worst offender. He has 7 HRs and 7 RBIs with them. Obviously, all solo shots.

Hmmmmmm.....I wonder who's fault that is.

HRs have accounted for 67 of our 175 runs. That's 38.3%.

Those stats from espn are wrong

It’s even worse

I reckon they used the stats from Saturday’s game twice, because LSUsports had Saturday’s box score under Sunday’s game most of last night

Saturday obviously the best offensive day LSU has had in SEC
