LSU has hit 42 HRs. That's a good thing. However, 24 of those have been solo shots. 42 HRs have resulted in just 67 of our 163 RBIs. Of the 18 other HRs, most are 2-run HRs. 5 are 3-run HRs. 3 by Doughty, 1 by Thompson, and 1 by Travinski. Dugas has the only grand slam.

Crews is the worst offender. He has 7 HRs and 7 RBIs with them. Obviously, all solo shots.

Doughty is the opposite. He has 8 HRs with only 2 solo resulting in 17 RBIs.

All stats:

Player...... HR.. Solo.. RBI
Doughty.....8.......2.......17
Crews........7.......7........7
Dugas........6......3........11
Thompson..5.....3........8
Arnold........4......2........6
Drost..........3......1........5
Beloso........2......1.......3
Bianco........2.......2.......2
Travinski.....2......1.......4
Sanford.......1......0.......2

There are multiple things to take away from that, none of them are really good.

We don't do a great job of getting non-HR RBIs and we don't do a great job of getting guys on base for multi-RBI HRs.

This is just context: at least two of Thompson's HRs have been on the back end of back-to-back HR instance. So those solo shots aren't part of the issue.

The lineup has so much potential if it's organized properly

(assuming everyone is healthy)

1. Morgan 1B
2. Crews RF
3. Doughty 3B
4. Dugas LF
5. Beloso DH
6. Arnold 2B
7. Thompson SS
8. Millazo C
9. Gio/Sanford when Gio isn't healthy

That's all Paul needs to do. Maybe flip Crews and Doughty? It's just so simple. This not only maximizes the potential of the lineup, it takes away the 3 or 4 guys in a row batting from the same side besides at 6,7,8.

ETA: AND STOP PUTTING frickING MILLAZO AT 9. THIS IS NOT SOME CRAZY STRATEGY. YOUR WORST HITTER SHOULD BE AT 8. A GUY WITH SPEED WHO CAN GET ON BASE SHOULD BE AT 9.

Doesn't have much to do with these stats, but I have a feeling Paul is going to start running more. I don't know if this will be good or bad. We've only attempted 1 stolen base in conference play.

I think we are 4-4 in conference.

ETA: Morgan and Crews each have 2.

I mean Wouldn’t that make the guys hitting in front of him the offender?

You want him not to his solo home runs?

You're taking that the wrong way. No. I'm not blaming Crews.

It makes the guy setting the line up the offender.

ESPN is wrong. They have us 1/1. I can find 2 for Morgan and 1 for Crews. I still think he tries to run more. I guess we'll see.

watching the saturday night game, when i saw his HR total and RBI total, that definitely stood out....but of course, he is leading off....or was up until that point.

That’s because he ought to be in the 3 hole rather than hitting leadoff. Got to have runners on if you’re going to drive them in.

189 left on base

How do you adjust line up to correct this?
