According to USA Today's Steve Berkowitz, Orgeron earned $1.775 million from the Tigers' playoff run, which culminated in a 42-25 win over Clemson on Monday night. Oregon's Mario Cristobal was the next-highest earner, making $1.175 million after the Ducks beat Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl.

Congrats Coach O! Well deserved.

This is how coaches contracts should always work. Earn the money. Keep them motivated.

He deserves that bonus and then some with the way this team performed every single week. There was no letdown. There was no backing off and just played their game daring anyone to try to stop it. Let's hope this aggressive attitude continues on through the next few years.

Yep. Now we need to make real estate agent contracts like this as well!

Good Contract structure! Everything was well deserved. Now it's time for a raise. Increase base salary from 4 to 6 million with an extension through 2026. Keep bonus structure intact.

Sure, a raise, but 50% raise?

Why? Are we worried about him going somewhere?

Frick no! This is what got us into trouble with Miles. Coaches don’t need six year guarantees. It’s very common for people to relax once they have success. Then they nosedive. What if Orgeron averages 4 losses per year for the next three years? Do you really want him coaching three more years after that?

Orgeron requires massive assistant salaries. We should add up the staff salaries plus Orgeron’s, and compare THAT to Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State, etc. If it’s lacking, then go ahead and give him a raise. Orgeron should be making about $2 million less than the average of the top 5 or 6 coaches (excluding Bama, because Nick has been in a class by himself). That $2 million is what we use to overpay our coordinators.

Everyone does now. Saban and Kirby have extremely high paid assistants.

This is an inaccurate talking point

Hey math major, 4 to 6 million isn’t a 50% raise

Mark Stoops still has the best bonus setup in college football. After winning a 7th game, Mark Stoops gets a 1-year extension worth at least $4,687,500. I realize it isn't a one time payment bonus. But, that is better than anything else I've seen this year. $4.6+ million for winning 7 games.

Coach O isn't letting up. He was recruiting AFTER the game & all day today on the phone between media + alumni/donors meet & greets.

Be prepared for a fun ride the next few years, baws

CEO has earned the right to be paid as one of the top 5 football coaches in the college ranks.

No one does more for their university than Ed Orgeron.

In your opinion, what is 50% of 4 million?
