F you old farts who are telling us to follow the "law". As if you never drank or smoked when you were younger. Its a part of life and definitly tailgating. The system is flawed and thats why many over look it. If you arent acting a fool then they should leave you the hell alone. Go find the people stealing shite or starting fights, not the us college kids having fun

Why don't ya'll have a designated carder next to the keg, alcohol etc. And a sign that reads we check I.D.'s, with the date you have to be born by to be able to drink at your tailgate. And have one color cups that you dispense so if somebody strolls up from another tg, he or she didn't get it from your tg. When I went to LSU you could drink at 18 so it wasn't a problem then. I don't think your gonna win this, and to continue to have a good time , your gonna have to meet half way with the rent a cops or whatever they are.

I would call LSUPD for clarification on this. How can you control who comes and goes from your tailgate? What law is LSUPD enforcing that states an underage drinker in the vicinity of your tailgate means hundreds of dollars of alcohol is confiscated.
You can control who is being served but if the vast majority of tailgaters are of drinking age then I would not let this one guy screw it up for you.
Just a few years ago my friends underage brother came by our tailgate smashed out of his mind so we let him sleep it off under the tent. Judging by the story you've told, LSUPD could have taken all of our shite too. We did not give him a drop to drink but he was a drunk minor at our tailgate.

Haha, as much as I want to, theres a time to hold em and a time to fold em. I'll still have fun, just somewhere else. Probably around grey haired senior citizens so I can easily tell if random people walk up to my tailgate.

Yeah doesn't make much sense does it? None of the other minors there were even checked and had no alcohol on them when the cops came. Just the one kid. Apparently thats basis enough.

I know, but we have good friends who are minors. I'm only 22 so a good number of my friends are underaged and I want to hang with them. Which is why were just getting rid of the alcohol.

I saw two or three golf carts in front of the soccer complex bathroom. Looked like they were writing tickets to some students for underage drinking.

That's a tough age. You definitely don't want to leave friends out.
I don't remember ever having trouble with the LSUPD at that age, but I never threw a tailgate. I'd suggest maybe cases of beer instead of a keg. BYOB.

A) I think its absurd that the drinking age is 21. It should be 18. If you're old enough to get married and sign up for military service without your folks permission, you're old enough to drink.
B) That being said, its kind of hard to expect the cops to NOT bust blatant violations of this law. Sub 21 year olds will just have to learn how to conceal their drinks better. Here's some tips:
1) switch to hard liquor. Requires less storage space, less ice to keep cool.
2) put drink in a plastic cup that isn't see through
3) If you can, try to tailgate with people who are old enough to drink.

we had a pretty big group and cops drove by but did not say anything. we also camped out in a tent friday night at our spot. however had cops come i think it was about 40 people 21+ and 2 that werent
