My biggest fear of the ole miss game is whether or not we can put up 50+ on their defense to keep up.

My second biggest fear is our fan base embarrassing us and rushing the field for beating ole miss.

god I hope that doesn't happen again. I think it happened in 2014 when OM came to town ranked in top 5. That really is embarrassing for rushing the field against a team that hasn't even won a conference championship in 60+ years, let alone a NC.

realistically, I don't think we lose to Florida or Vandy or Arky. Florida will have a new coach, Vandy is at home, and Arky is not as good as yall think, as sorry as Auburn is, they are favored over Arky this week by 4 points.

Will need to win 3 of 4 most likely against:

Vs OM
Vs Bama
@A&M
Vs OU

tough task but possible. Will likely be slight dogs against OM and Bama, and Texas A&M, and favored by 4 or 5 over OU.

Not mentioned much is Ole Miss has a road game the week before they play LSU.

LSU also has an open date before the Ole Miss game.

Agreed. But, most of these issues could be improved with coaching, scheme, practice.

And there are weeks to get ready, and live games to refine adjustments to the scheme.

Its on coaches to work with the players to clean this all up.

There is not enough room to move into the top ten by nearing UCLA and South Alabama

Barring multiple huge upsets, best LSU can get to before Ole Miss is 13-14

makes no difference...even if they were 10th and lose to OM they are falling out. If they beat OM and are ranked 13th, they will crack the top 10.

We are not beating Ole Miss……..best team in probably 50 years for them. We will definitely beat UCLA and South Alabama. I have seen South play and there Off & Def lines are very small. We are a 4 or 5 loss team this year.

I’m telling y’all, beat Ole Miss, and LSU walks to 7-1 with maybe a little early trouble against Aggie. Beat Ole Miss and LSU makes the playoffs.

"Maybe" a little trouble against Aggy? We havent won there the last 3 tries. We've played awful there.

Some of you are sunshine pumping a not very good LSU team right now. We are a middle of the pack SEC team until we can show otherwise.

All of my expectations are gone out the window and I've lost all faith in BK. We're struggling to get through the easiest part of the schedule.

I just want to enjoy the football season and hope for the best.

Hopefully they will do the right thing and continue to build momentum with Caden Durham and hopefully Hilton will be back to play against South Alabama to get a game under his belt before the BYE & Ole Miss.

LSU will not be a ‘top 8’ team going into Ole Miss. You’re delusional!

Depending on if and how we win the next 2 games I say we will be top 15 for sure . Don’t think we bust in the top 10 unless we beat ole miss .

Yes - we could hit a 10 or 11 with an OM win.

This defense is not going to stop any team with a pulse.

At least this defense is creating TURNOVERS. Something that was absent last year.

Still going to get 5+ penalties per game.

That's a safe bet

Brian Kelly refuses to start a 1st half with any kind of momentum.

Brian Kelly is not on the field when mistakes are made. LB's not filling gaps, Ends not containing. etc.

Nuss throwing 40 times a game is not the recipe for winning in the SEC.

The offense will balance out as the season goes along.

To be fair, several factors led to issues in that game:

1) A punt block that should have been disallowed led to easy points and a tough spot for the defense.

2) The injuries to date are forcing a lot of adjustments on top of being only in game 3 of an entirely new defensive scheme and staff.

3) Players moving to new roles or coming back off of injury.

The offense will get better as it gels and it is clear that Durham has opened things up for them a bit. If that continues it will be interesting.

Reality is that the team has flaws, but also a ton of potential. They will hopefully continue to improve and have 2 games against significantly weaker talent at home to get things figured out.

Also, as others mentioned, two bad angles lead to more than 1/3 of their yards on two plays. Sellers was only on pace to pass for about 200 yards, so not tearing things up.

If they can get the run defense fixed, they will be solid. They proved that against a better offense in USC when healthy.
