LSU will be the legit #1 in transfer portal but the fix is in for Ole Miss

Here are the documented facts I posted earlier which shows there is something awfully fishy regarding Ole Miss and 247 Sports.
"Magically, Ole Miss added NO ONE since the link I was going to use and amazingly they rose 3.5 points. Gotta love these recruiting services... Abracadabra! LSU is now #2
11 AM today on 247 Sports Transfer Portal rankings
1 LSU 7 Commits 89.86 avg 45.99 total points
2 Ole Miss 7 Commits 90.50 avg 45.40 total points
1:30 PM today on 247 Sports Transfer Portal rankings
1 Ole Miss 7 Commits 90.14 avg 48.95 total points
2 LSU 8 Commits 89.86 avg 45.99 total points
The moral of this story is that apparently rankings means absolutely nothing mathematically since recruiting services just "shuffle the deck" for no reason at all. Ole Miss' change of points is ridiculous...nothing changed but their point total...same players in both rankings."

I agree 100% but I'm just giving people ammo when the anti-LSU/pro Ole Miss trolls come over and try to reference these bogus ratings. Also notice that LSU added 1 very good commit (went from 7 to 8) and their points went up a grand total of 0.0. Hey, I'm happy that a Lane Kiffin relative is employed.

Look at the math you typed out. At 1130 we both had 7 committed. Our avg was 89 and there’s was 90 and yet we were ranked ahead of them. Then it corrected.
It doesn’t matter though. Sign the best players you can.

I agree about the 2nd point but I assume you have read literally the dozens of messages acting like Kelly screws up in the portal, other teams beat LSU like a drum in the portal, etc. Personally, I want LSU to not only win games but come close to being #1 in recruiting also. Both of these matter to the college football brand of a school.

Not everybody is the world is out to get LSU. Who cares what anybodies opinion on rankings are? We have needs, we seem to be filling them well. We will settle things on the field. That's the only place winning and losing matters.

Nope, that is not how 247 works in their recruiting standings sometimes. Without getting too deep in the weeds, you can actually have the same number of commits, lose the average rating, and amazingly be ranked higher. Plus, what you said doesn't explain why Ole Miss avg rating actually went down with absolutely no change in the number of commits. Did those commits play more college games we don't know about?
But I agree that signing the best players possible AND filling needs which is understated by the rankings is what LSU should shoot for.

Welcome to College Recruiting Rankings. If you have ever read any of the many, many posts during HS recruiting standings, sometimes the difference between spots in the rankings is only several hundreds of a point and yet some people try to act like LSU is failing at recruiting. Unfortunately a huge deal is made here by some when LSU is 6th instead of 4th or 5th with almost no difference in total points.
