the defense we play matches up well with all the spread/perimeter offenses we play. if our defense wasnt so young this past year, i.e. we were playing in week 2 oe 3 the way we were playing at the end we probably go 11-1, and we shoulda been ahead at halftime against bama with some momentum. les plays an emotional brand of football, and it works both ways, unfortunately.

as long as we avoid the turnover bug (ole miss, bama), we can win every game next year with (depending on who comes back) the nations best rushing attack, 4 deep at rb, and our usual place in the top 10 on defense.

i would be disappointed with less than 10 wins.

10-3 low and i think a realistic(but not probable) 15-0 high.

if...our oline stays intact.

if...our prospects on dline become more than prospects.

if...we have one or more of our young qb's exponentially improve under Cam's guidance.

if...the late improvement we saw from our back seven continues.

if...we end up with a backfield rotation of Hill, McGee, Hilliard and Leonard 'freakn' Fournette.

if...we have, at least, three quality options for whomever wins the qb battle to throw to.

if...special teams continue play like in the bowl.

could happen....very positive thinking....only time will tell.

It can't be both the average and the minimum. He has had seasons with less than 2 losses, and he has had seasons with more. The average is 2.

WAT?

our DLINE will suck. That's at a minimum 2 losses when you're thin at THE most important position outside of the QB in the SEC.

Oh and THE most important position is 100% unknown

Who do yall think starts oppo Dural assuming the guys on the roster and not Malachi Dupree? I am thinking Quinn in the slot (most of our other receivers arent slot guys)...I just dont know much about Diarse and Spears and who has a higher potential

and our offense will be much worse. Next year we'll go back to the LSU norm of our defense keeping us in games and our offense barely getting by. It'll be the offense that loses us games next year rather than the defense like 2013.

I seem to remember a season a few years ago when we made it to the national championship game without a quarterback. Are you 13 years old, or are you a Bama troll?

I'm not too scared of Auburn considering our defense has been one of the only ones to slow them down all year. Also, we've been the only one to consistently make Manziel look incredibly human two years in a row. I'm more scared of the traditional power running teams IMO. We've handled all that misdirection and option extremely well

Wasn't Lee the highest rated passer in the SEC before he got benched in the Bama game?

9-3 is best case but probably more like 8-4/7-5

I wouldn't sleep on the defense just yet

The back 7 could be really good. The front 4 is cause for concern with some unproven talent. But the talent is there.

I'm expecting a 10-2 regular season

Dline will be weak and with no pressure the secondary will struggle. Idc who is back there, if qbs have forever to release the ball then anyone can get open.

New QB with Dural being the only WR with any real experience.

Running game should be stout.

What makes you think our linebackers will be any better?

We struggle and could lose to Wisconsin, Auburn, Bama, Ole Miss

Defense will be improved slightly. They will still struggle because of the lack of play makers or game changers. Don't get your hopes up. LSU will struggle next year

Yeah, no it won't.

We return all of our DEs and we have new guys coming on who are very talented. Beckwith will improve quite a bit as well. He played A LOT as a true Freshman.

All of those 4 star DLinemen that didn't play this year because they were redshirting are going to make massive improvements. We have big guys who can play DT and will come on. We will have depth and experienced depth.

Yes, we lose 2 starters, but really, how good were they? Not at all what we are used to. With another year in the system and weight room, I am 100% confident that we have guys on our roster who can play as well, if not better, than what we had at DT this past year.

The rest of the defense will be better.

So, I think the defense will be much improved.

On offense, by biggest concern is WR. Not QB. LSU went 41-12 from 2008-11 with horrible QB play. We will get back to that brand of football, but with much better QB play and Cam Cameron, an OC who actually knows what he is doing.

I am excited.

exactly. we are built to shut down spread teams, especially running qbs. we'll have a hiccup from time to time, but we do well against auburn/aTm type offenses. our loses are more probable to come against arkansas, alabama or wisconsin.

teams that run from the spread lose vital time against our quick defense during the handoff and olines dont get as big a jump on us.

While our record may be better next year, it wont be a better team than this past years was IMO.

I mean look at who everyone else is losing. Alabama is losing McCarron, Mosley, Dix, etc. TAMU is losing Manziel. UGA is losing Murray. Ole Miss is losing Bo Wallace, Jeff Scott and Moncrief, who have destroyed us the past 2 years.

So yea we might win more games next year because other teams are losing a lot of veteran players too. But, i dont think next years team will be better than this past years team.

On roster we have Dural, Leslie and Avery Peterson which gives us some good young players. If I remember Diarse and Spears were pretty well recruited players. I do suspect that we will be utilizing our RBs abd TEs more in the pass game to take the heat off of AJ or Harris (he should get some PT in the early out of conf. games).

I really think White and Robinson are going to develop well and our back 7 will be better. Garrett, Kwon and Welter (hopefully improving off of his bowl game) will be an upgrade. Mills may be moving into Lotson's SS spot which may actually be a better fit for him. Adams may play early and Paris could bring the swagger back to the D missing since Matthieu left.

D-line will be a question in the middle but there is a lot of young guys to rotate. Hunter, Beckwith and Rasco are solid.

I think we'll play a more conservative style like we did pre-Mett. We'll win most games with a smaller margin, but won't melt down like the Ole Miss game. Our RB tandem will prevent us from seeing the disappearance of touches for our workhorses we saw the last 2 seasons (Clemson and a few games this year). I think this could shape up to be a 2011 type season.

I agree with all of that and that is what is inspiring me to say what I am saying. I agree with all of it except for the 2011 part. This team won't be that good because we do not have the impact players on Defense like we did then. We do not have the Honey Badger.

But, considering the schedule and how we will play the game - and, if there is one thing that Les Miles knows how to do, it is how to win games in the way that we will need to win next - I think we go 11-1.
