Idk, it would take really only one loss and even outside of Alabama.. LSU is struggling to beat Florida under Mullen and a&m now under Fisher. Both programs should only get better. Yes, we should too.. but it seems like O goes too conservative in some of these games. I also don’t know what to make of auburn but that game is a toss up lately with us prevailing the last two.
No one can prove anything right now. Unlike the Miami game this year, (I easily thought we’d win) I am a little concerned about playing Texas.
I wish we would make the CFP.

Good no excuses for next year

we do have the most talented roster returning in the SEC, including the best D and a Heisman quality QB
Based on what? We are losing major players on defense and are going to lack depth on the defensive line most likely.
The defense will be good but you aren’t losing the best CB and LB in the country in the draft and having a better defense then this year.
That said, other teams that beat us this year will also improve which is why LSU fans claiming LSU has an easier time next year is stupid.
LSU will okay a real OOC opponent next year and not a bad Miami team too. LSU goes 9-3 next year at best.

Looking at the schedule, I'd say we have a good shot at 10 & 2.

LOL. No.
LSU is now falling behind other SEC schools in recruiting, on top of having a bottom-tier HC.
Bama just set a record with their latest class to go on top of what they already had. aTm and UGA are now ahead of us in recruiting rankings. Both of these teams have coaching staffs capable of making the CFB playoff with that type of talent. They have proven that in the past. Our staff is lucky to win 9 games.
LSU will lose 2-3 games next year, again. This was the year for O to get 10 regular season wins, but the SEC didn't allow it. Too bad for him.

This.
I hope the OP is right. I think they are certainly capable. And I'll be pulling for it.
But history has shown us that LSU has had an obscene number of early defections over the last decade and there's no sign of it ending yet. Each of those early defections weakens the team the following year.
So far we have 2 this year, one expected, one unexpected. We all expect White to go. If we lose 2 or more of Lawrence, Fehoko, Divinity, and Fulton, or God forbid some other unfathomable junior, any reasonable expectation for a top 4 finish will likewise fade away.

Fred Flintstone is Head Coach and Barney Rubble is running the offense. So you are wrong.

Are you an idiot? You're choosing recruiting as a reason for saying no? The Tigers have the #4 class currently and WILL pass A&M once the class fills up.

Next you say this was the year for O to win 10 games! I bet you also agreed with the preseason predictions of 6 wins. Tell me I'm wrong.

Fisher beat LSU this year with lesser talent. Given equal or better players, LSU will be in trouble

Ummm
O and E are not beating the top level of coaches.

There’s two good reasons this won’t happen in the posted picture. OP, see if you can pick them out.

Ensminger looks more like a pastor in a small rural town than a college football coach.

I think that's readily apparent.

I can't keep up with the recruiting arguments. I'm now told that we have been working with some serious deficiencies for the past couple of years, which O is now addressing, despite the recruiting rankings in the years immediately prior to O becoming coach.
