“LSU was exposed by Auburn.” “LSU barely beat Auburn’s defense.”

Here’s the issue I have with this comment. Yeah, sure...Auburn had some defensive success against LSU. The DL was amazing.
Not one writer anywhere that I’ve seen that mentioned the Auburn game said the first thing about Auburn COMPLETELY CHANGING THEIR ENTIRE DEFENSIVE ALIGNMENT/STRATEGY..
LINK
Burrow even said it in an interview that they went to something they haven’t seen all year. Film review showed that Auburn played a 3-1-7 instead of their base. LSU has to adjust and that’s how CEH came away with 100+ yards. When they went back to their alignment,
I don’t see Alabama doing the same. I think Saban is too prideful for that sort of thing. LSU will move the ball against this defense. I think the issue lies with Kary Vincent. He’s going to get toasted all game, IMO. Just hope LSU can keep up.

And this is where Auburn shelved the 3-1-7 defense. Perhaps it was because LSU was able to drive 74 yards on it, which included a 45-yard deep pass to Chase. Perhaps it was because Auburn's offense went three-and-out on the next two possessions in the shadow of its own goal post, and Steele couldn't risk throwing out gassed defenders that could get burned on the line of scrimmage or in the secondary. Whatever it was, when LSU trotted out for its third possession of the second half, it was Auburn's 4-2-5 defense that met them. It's likely that it was fatigue. Orgeron said that he did notice that some of their success on the ground came when Auburn's starting line wasn't in the game. On that third drive, neither Brown or Davidson were in the game. A 3-1-7 defense leans on those defensive linemen, and if the big guys were tired, perhaps Steele didn't want to use his second rotation in that package. Three plays later, Burrow was intercepted on a pass attempt to Chase near the pylon. Burrow said he returned to the sideline, put on the headphones, and heard offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger and passing game coordinator Joe Brady say: "Let's just pound it on this drive. We're just going to run the ball and see if they can stop it."

What came next? A four-play, 45-yard touchdown drive in which Burrow handed the ball off to Edwards-Helaire on every single play. And when Burrow approached the line of scrimmage on first-and-10 at the Auburn 45 (pictured above), Auburn was still in its base defense and Brown had returned to the game.

I concur.
LSU needs to work on the redzone a little more. But LSU moved the ball bigly against a really good defense.

Bama doesnt have a Brown on the d line.
Dont get me wrong Bama has talent on defense but the line isnt as dominant as usual and much less so than Auburns.
I mean 500 yes of offense doesnt really strike me as exposed. Red zone playcalling and short yardage is what caused the low point totals.

You bet little Nickey has a plan to exploit Vincent. That’s the only real weak link I see in LSU’s secondary. Those short slant passing plays are going to light Vincent up. However, in Aranda we trust

You lost me at:
Saban is not too prideful to win. He will win at all costs, and after seeing the film of how Auburn defended LSU it would shock me if he didn’t gameplan in successful tactics that he saw.

Considering that before the Auburn game LSU was 100% in the redzone. I think the playcalling itself was the issue.
We saw alot more run up the middle in the red zone against Auburn for some reason. Also went for it instead of kicking field goals alot too

You can see Saban completely abandoning his base defense that’s won him titles?

Auburn played a good game with a good game plan.
LSU made some costly mistakes.
Game wasn’t as close as score indicated IMO
LSU beats Auburn on a neutral field 10/10

Bama's D-Line is probably still 3rd or 4th best in the SEC, but their biggest weakness is the linebackers.
2 true freshmen middle linebackers. Look for E and Joe Brady to exploit that.
Lots of Clyde and lots of Moss this game.
If they bring a safety down to help in coverage or run support, we eat them apart with our WRs.

Two things. First LSU won the game, and relatively speaking it was not as close as the score indicated and LSU played one of their worst games. A couple of uncharacteristic drops and a defensive bust by Stevens and a fluke throw by Auburn, but LSU offense ran up and down the field. Secondly, LSU still found a way to win.

If LSU decides to kick field goals instead of going for it, ADD 9 points to the score.

Saban too prideful to change?
Yeah. Righit.

Nick Saban will do whatever it takes to win.

Over 500 yards of offense is a beat down... I don’t give a rats arse what the scoreboard showed

I agree.
The even larger point is that we still racked up 500+ yards. We just couldn't punch it in against the big hogs in goal line and short yardage.
We won't see another dline like Auburn. Don't expect to see another team hold LSU to 23 points.

We hung 500 yards on them but just got super vanilla at the goal line. I don’t see that kind of play calling happening against Alabama.

Didn't coaches and players from LSU say in last year's game that Bama showed them looks that they hadn't seen in film study?
That's completely wishful thinking. If anything Saban's shown he'll make any adjustment if it will help him win.

With the turnovers, failed 4th and shorts, and shitty field conditions LSU still got over 500 yards of offense. LSU also kind of shut down the offense in the later stages of the game to try to milk down the clock.

Like completely changing his gameplans between 11-5 and 1-9 while ya boy Les trotted out the same exact shite with the same exact option “wrinkle?”
