Not great, but certainly better than the “105th ranked offense” talking point that you guys are throwing out there.

The point of the game is to score, not rack up tons of yards.

44th against the 5th ranked SOS is decent, not a complete abject failure and fireable offense for Steve Ensminger. This was all accomplished with a myriad of injuries and an O line that was mostly a turnstile.

What was it before AM 7 ot game?

Looks like 27.4 pts a game when eliminating AM 7ot, and defensive TDs, which is 74th.

If you add the AM game, 24pts in regulation(taking out defensive score), its 75th.

Point is, your post and point is very skewed by 1 game!

OFFENSE WAS TERRIBLE

NOPE, it was 74th-75th against the 5th ranked SOS which is not decent. It was a Failure and fireable offense for SE

Yeah but you cold also getting 7 extra possessionnon the 25 greatly altered that number.

In regulation we are average 28.3 pppg.
Which includes 2 defensive TDS.

Our offense scores 27.16 points a game in regulations.

We’re 65th in tds again including 5 OT TDs.

If the defense gets a stop in the 4th we’re in the 90s.

A statistic is a static. If you alter LSU’s, then do the math on the other 120 and post the new rankings. You can’t just alter LSU’s.

Which would put us as 75th in the country in scoring offense

This is why offensive efficiency is a better indicator of offensive production. It takes in account yds/play and sos

We finished 33rd this year.

But all stats can be skewed. In 2015 we finished 17th but 90% of that was because Fournette was so good against pretty much everyone but Bama but our passing offense was total crap

I agree with you, but put it this way, we scored more in those 7 OTs than we did in 10 other games.

37 offensive TDS in 48 quarters of football isn’t good.

That’s not standard.

Much more relevant than pure PPG, and it is fairly similar. 53rd in S&P+ offense is just above average.

All in all, not terrible, but obviously not where we want to be.

Considering the OL ranks:

About what you might expect from an offense. I think Ensminger didn't do great, but he didnt do horribly either. It's tough for a lot of coaches to figure out how to get an offense really going when you have an OL that simply isn't blocking up front, especially on passing situation when you're trying to move to being more a passing team due to a dip down in RB talent.

I'm not opposed to if we find a great OC to getting him, but at the same time I wouldn't lose my mind either if Ensminger gets 1 more shot to show what he's got if the OL improves at all. There's certainly a lot returning and even adding a few key pieces like Emery and Davis at RB.

Did I say this anywhere in my post? No.

I think E should get another year. If the offense is still mediocre with a better OL, then it’s time for a complete offensive staff change.

this offense isn’t even mediocre man.

The saving grace statistically was 7 OT periods where we lost.

Otherwise we were below mediocre.

And that’s with an elite kicker giving up range up to 50 yards and pretty much 50/50 outside 50

That's not very good at all, especially considering the 7 OT game factoring into that. Both teams had nothing left defensively.

quote:

This was all accomplished with a myriad of injuries and an O line that was mostly a turnstile.

There will always be a myriad of injuries.. it's football and everyone goes through it..

but guess what? LSU still never was without their starting QB or starting Rb.. and we went through a nasty stretch of no passing TDs.

Most teams deal with injuries all across the board.. You overcome it.. you adjust..

I would love to know the rankings outside of the 7 OT game.

The point is to score.

OU had 89 TDs
Ohio St had 70 TDs
Clemson 77 TDs
Houston 72 TDs
Alabama 77 TDs
Georgia 61 TDs

LSU 42 TDs..

and how many came from the 7 OT craziness? That's AWFUL.

That's not good whatsoever, I have no idea how you are trying to spin that as good, but okay..
