We should be the 4th pick from the SEC. This bowl is for about the 6-7th teams historically.
It doesn't work like that anymore. Ole Miss got the SEC #1 slot (sugar), Florida got the sec #2 slot (citrus), we got the regionally preferred SEC #3-8 spot.

Upscale trailer park, right?

If we lose to Texas Tech, God help anyone around me.

I formation all night long.

I know it doesn't work that way anymore. Doesn't change my (and most people's) perception of December bowl games and the illustrious Texas Bowl.

Anyone know what side of the stadium LSU is?

It's a good thing I wasn't planning on visiting Oklahoma on Dec. 29.

If you know it doesn't work like that, and that knowledge doesn't change your perception, then I don't know what to tell you. You literally have the information needed to change your perception. We call that willful ignorance.
I assume you'd be upset if we had gotten a Chick-fil-A bowl bid this year?

We're going to run all over them.

Florida State...Texas Tech....Florida State....Texas Tech. Yeah, I'm pretty sure the CFA would have been considerably better.

For everyone bitching about playing TT, give me your tickets. I need 4. We'll gladly go in your place.

Which is horseshite because the historically more prestigious next 2 bowls are the outback and gator. This essentially guarantees the shitty East or Auburn gets those two bowls. Back when the cotton was in this tier it didnt matter because the next up in the west had an equivalent bowl.

Exactly. All the January Florida bowls keep their SEC East preference, while the West loses the Cotton and has to pretend like the Texas Bowl is worth a shite. It is a bowl for 7-5 teams that are unranked.

Historical prestige is irrelevant at this point. I understand it's hard to get beyond what we knew, but the outback, cap one, etc. no longer carry anymore weight or prestige than the other 4 in that grouping.
Many people have always said that beyond the "big" bowls, the others don't matter. They've made that more true than ever.

And they are gonna pass all over us. This bowl has YUCK written all over it for lsu. This game drops us out of any elite status we had left. I tried to stay positive all year but that feeling has now gone away. Again just like is said before this season. Get ready for the same crap next year as well. Sorry fellows tiger fans but that's just the reality of it.

Cap 1 is the citrus. You cant sit here and tell me with a straight face that you wouldnt rather be in the citrus right now.
Orlando vs Houston. UM vs Texas Tech. Harbaugh vs Kingsbury.

Money-wise it may be irrelevant, but playing in January is still a feather in the cap for all schools nationwide.

Nice crappy bowl, against a crappy opponent to finish a disappointing season.

I'm excited to see LSU play football
Every game.
The group of 6 bowls in the SEC suck. If you don't get into the playoff or the sugar basically you are just left for dead in conference politics. You think Florida got in the citrus because they are a quality that exciting to watch?
