This is the worst game to lead into SEC play.

It’s less than practice.

It pours all of its money into its degree programs.

yeah I don't get why we are playing them at this point in the season. makes more sense to play a decent mid major. this game stood out to me from the moment the schedule got released. this is a team you play in your first or second game of the year, not the game right before you start conference play.

Florida played Stetson today. Several SEC schools played/will be playing SWAC/MEAC level teams in their final non-come game. LSU is not alone here. In fact, it’s more of the norm.

Guys are coming back from going home for a quick Christmas break. Coaches don’t want to risk a loss with a team that has been away from basketball for 2-3 days earlier in the week

In the SWAC, a league of cash-challenged HBCUs, Valley has the least profitable athletic department. A couple of years ago, Southern led all HBCUs with $18 million in athletic revenue. Valley was at the very bottom with $4 million. That lack of funding affects everything from scholarships to travel accomodations. While the outcome of tonight's game was predictable, whatever sum LSU paid Valley to play the game made it worth their while.

Riveting retort. What part is “wrong”?

Our NET ranking in the SEC is 15th. We have played an extremely weak non conf schedule.

This would mean that alot of SEC teams need to get in the tourney for us to be in also.

I will be impressed if we do well in conf play and start getting excited.

If the season ended on New Year's Day, yes. But it doesn't, so you are very, very wrong.

The response was to the statement that LSU shouldn’t play this type of team as the last non-conference game. I was pointing out LSU isn’t alone in playing a weak opponent as their final non-conference game

They are literally the worst team in D-1. LSU opened as a 41 point favorite. I thought that was an absurd line, but they may actually cover it

Yep, I told my wife while we watched it, and I told her they were the worst team in the country. She asked if they knew they were the worst team in the country? I said yes, the NET rankings are public record!

I've given my take ad nauseum on this - so I'll spare everyone - time to get ready for SEC play. Geaux Tigers!!
