Ok state got screwed

Drop it, Joe. Okie State lost. They had control of their own destiny and lost to a bad team.

Unfortunately playoffs didn't exist back then, but even if they did, the NC game would still have been LSU v Bama

That Eric Reid interception on the goal line is one of the all-time great Tiger plays! We lose that game if that INT doesn’t happen.

LSU probably also loses the game if Brad Wing doesn’t boom that punt right after. A weak or even a normal punt and Alabama is set back up in LSU territory.

As crazy as it seems, that game was the first time SEC teams ranked #1 and #2 had ever met in a regular season game. In 1959, LSU was #1, but Ole Miss was #3.

One play that has always stood out to me was when Russell Sheppard caught the long pass and then just fell down. I think he was expecting someone to hit him, but he could have just turned around and walked into the endzone

Only one touchdown scored between the two games amazing defense
That one touchdown was a joke in mop up time at end of game

+1. True “taking victory from the jaws of defeat” moment. Offensively it’s similar to Jarvis Landry catch against Arky on a crisp and beautiful Sat. Afternoon in Tiger stadium years ago. That pass should have been intercepted. Reid made that interception happen. Out-muscled the tight end. Impressive! All-time GREATEST top 3 for sure - especially considering the #1 vs #2 matchup AND it was at the goal line in a tie game in 4th Qtr.

Jefferson was good with the option that game. Nick Saban and Kirby smart must have practiced stopping that the whole month before the national championship. Dumbass les miles of course ran the same game plan and they were ready for it.

Now the 2011 SEC Championship is on. I had forgotten just how atrocious JJ was in the first half. Not a single first down. Woof.

Good game. I was there, traveled 600 miles and paid $500.00 for the ticket. Only game I ever saw LSu play in my lifetime as I'm 85. I'm glad I did it.

My friend and son were Bama fans as he had worked in Huntsville for 10 years. His son got tickets for us and we drove down from Chicago to see the game. I never told the wife what the ticket cost, but we're still married. It was a long ride home, but I didn't rub it in. I'm an LSU fan since I'm from West Monroe. All my life. Hope we have a good year.

Is TM the only player still in the NFL from that team?
