Not to rain on your parade but LSU is going to be very salty this year with practically everyone returning and an amazing class. Wisconsin isn't in lsu's league when both are clicking...not to slam Wisconsin. LSU is currently picked yo win the sec and second favorite to win nc. Doesn't mean a lot but does say a lot.

I can wait to visit lambeau.

I saw them there and thought about it, just don't know if I want to sit in the middle of sleeveless shirt badgers.

Wev've rented a two br house about 1/2 mi from Lambeau. Likely flying in to Milwaukee on Thursday and flying home Sunday

Admitted students will typically score between 27-31 on the ACT and 1840-2050 on the SAT, although there is no minimum required score.
from UW website.

So, while UW's overall student body might have higher test scores, than LSU, they definitely have the ability to ALLOW under performing athletes into the school.

So don't use "academic" standards as an excuse for Wisconsin not being on a level playing field when it comes to getting football recruits.

I'll be with wife and kid but I'm going to call and see if I can get in a foursome (golf) on Friday afternoon. Don't know anyone or how it works there.

You know this means nothing right? There are some top MBA programs that allow students in with a 520 on the GMAT. Doesn't mean they take them when the average score accepted is 650. They are definitely a higher rated academic program

I am fully aware that this is supposed to be the year for LSU. All the mature talent should be ready.
As a Badger fan all I know is we are finally playing another ranked non conference opponent in our home state and our kids will bust their arse. I think LSU wins, but I know UW won't roll over either.

As far as the academic standards being different at UW, they most certainly are. I think it's dumb myself that a school like Michigan which has a higher academic rep can admit guys that we cant. It has something to do with core course requirements. It's sucks because it's a self imposed excuse, but it has impacted us. We lost a hometown D lineman that played for MSU agains Bama. There are others. We don't even look at some guys we know won't get admitted.

For the record, I am not a person that disparages other schools for different standards. It's all about choice. I would look unfavorably upon a school like UNC that cheats with kids once they are in.

the academic standards for athletes at LSU can't be very high. The only recruits I remember losing due to academics are Lacy and Sentimore, who both somehow managed to qualify at Bama.

Looking forward to this game

September is the best month of the year. Temps around low 70s. Leaves turning color at the end if the month.Football season starting.
That said, there have been some sweltering openers in Madison.

Thus game being at night should be perfect though either way. Cools off a bit more at night than down South.

I plan on driving up on Friday night after HS football just to prebar in Green Bay with you Tigers. You know the drill. Its Louisiana and Wisconsin. Alcohol will be flowwwwwing

How will the bar scene be Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday night? Does Green Bay only get going on gamedays or there enough options that all three nights will be jumping (insert jump around joke here).

We rented a pretty cool house on 5 acres down in Chilton and have a pretty good sized crew heading up. Our current debate is whether of not anyone will drive up with the tailgate trailer to take it up a notch. We looked at playing Whistling Straits, but I'm not dropping $500 on golf that's not Pebble Beach.

I'm also considering trying to get a friend to bring up a tailgate trailer. I've offered to buy his ticket, pay for the gas on the drive there and back and he can crash at the place we rented. I'm hoping he takes the offer.

I believe the preparation it took to defeat Oregon, and their no-huddle offense, in our season opener years ago is partially responsible for the success we had that year in going 13-0.

I look for this game to have a similar effect.
