247 Composite Recruiting Rankings for the last four years:

LSU: 5, 2, 7, 15 Avg: 7.25

Miami: 27, 22, 12, 8 Avg: 17.25
Auburn: 8, 9, 9, 12 Avg: 9.5
Ole Miss: 17, 5, 31, 31 Avg: 21
Florida: 21, 12, 11, 14 Avg: 14.5
Georgia: 6, 6, 3, 1 Avg: 4
Miss. State: 18, 28, 24, 27 Avg: 24.25
Alabama: 1, 1, 1, 6 Avg: 2.25
Arkansas: 22, 23, 27, 49 Avg: 30.25
Texas A&M: 11, 18, 13, 17 Avg: 14.75

Southeastern, La Tech, Rice: Didn't bother

Based on talent alone, can we agree on the following?

1. LSU should lose to Alabama and Georgia
2. Auburn is a toss up.
3. LSU should beat the rest of the teams on its schedule.
4. We should expect a 10-2 season.
5. Anything less than 9-3 is a failure.
6. Our schedule isn't as difficult as some people think.

I don't think recruiting rankings are going to matter this week.

Coaching is the biggest variable.

There is little more to it than rankings at the time.

4-star Hayden Rettig 8th
4-star John Diarse 10th
4-star Avery Peterson 12th
4-star Anthony Jennings 14th
4-star Melvin Jones 15th
4-star Maquedius Bain 18th
4-star Andy Dodd 19th
4-star Rashard Robinson 20th

2014 - ranked 2nd:

5-star Clifton Garrett 3rd ranked player in class

4-star Brandon Harris 6th
4-star Trey Quinn 7th
4-star Jevonte Domond
4-star Tony Upchurch
4-star Travonte Valentine

2015 - 5th ranked class:

5-star Maea Teuhema 3rd player in class

4-star Chidi Valentine-Okeke
4-star Xavier Lewis

In this story, numbers on each recruiting class. One that stings? The 2015 class, where 39% of the signees have already transferred or been dismissed.

From the 2014-2016 classes, only 32 signees (44%) remain on the team right now.

Are we the only team that has had attrition? I bet you won't answer my question about what our expectations should be.

No but the LSU 24/7 guy seemed to make a big deal about LSU losing players to attrition and the NFL draft.

If you want to recalculate every team on the schedule and let us know, I'll read your information.

It's coaching indeed...........qualified leadership is our biggest obstacle.

All the drama and "stories" do not matter, the fans will support competency, character, coaching...............its not about culture!

Damn. I am good.

2013 - ranked 6th:

Why include a list of players that would have to be 5th year seniors to be on the team right now?

ETA: Not to mention the two players from 2014's class that would be out of eligibility (Harris and Quinn).

ETAA: Scratch that. The entire 2014 class is not included in the OP.

I just copied and pasted from a post I had made earlier. That is why I threw in what Shea had said (which was also in a post I had made a while ago).

Now factor in the kids who left early for the draft and transfers. You'll see much different results.

This is a down year for us. If you expect 10-2, you're a retard with unrealistic expectations.

Awesome. So how about you just do 2015-present so we can get an actual depiction of the attrition?

yea, everyone knows that these games should not even be played. these numbers should determine the winner and we can all save some money and effort.

I’m not going to agree to this. Both games are at home. Either split these games or lose both and win the rest.

Should be a hell of a down year for Bama then, right? Maybe we should up the ante to 11-1. Again, are we the only team that has had attrition?

Anything less then 10 wins would be disappointing with the defense lsu will have.

I meant left early for whatever reason, not just the draft. Compare LSU and Bama's transfers the past 4 years. We've lost a lot of 5/4 star players to that. But you know this, you just refuse to leave it out.

Good post. Yes, anything less than 10-2 is a failure. That was the standard to which Les was held, so it should be the same for O.
