I thought I heard a radio broadcast mention that LSU only had 10 returning starters from last year. With that in mind, which units will be an upgrade from last year? Which will be a downgrade?

QB- Push
WR- Upgrade
TE- Upgrade
OL- Push (lots of potential but also lots of unproven talent)
RB- Downgrade

DL- Upgrade
LB- Upgrade
DBs- Downgrade

ST- Upgrade

Agree or disagree?

I feel like we've barely downgraded at DB any year since 2011. Maybe 2013 they didn't play to their potential. I feel pretty good someone will step up.

You're right. Unless Burrow lives up to the hype, it will be a major downgrade.
None of the other guys have shown the ability to do a damn thing.

There were 13 QBS taken in the 2018 NFL Draft. Danny Etling was the 11th QB drafted.

Not sure on downgrade on dbs...as long as they stay healthy. Admittingly, I was never a fan of Jackson...thought he was way too soft and got beat a lot...couple huge critical plays cost few games.

Agree with most but I believe Burrow will be upgrade and our def backs will be OK. Our safeties will be better and close to 2011 players. Our corners opposite Greedy weren't that good last year.

everything will be an upgrade, with the following notes:

RB will not be as great a dropoff because guice was injured last year. DB's are not a dropoff except for depth at CB. offensive line will be better, but it needs to be a lot better, especially out of the gate.

it's going to be a better team.

QB- Downgrade - just because we're not sure of what we're getting here. Don't underestimate what Etling brought to the team - grit, leadership, and ball security. That was huge for us last year.
WR- Push - losing Chark and Gage was big, however, replacing them with probably better but younger talent.
TE- Upgrade I'll agree if we actually use them lol
OL- Push (lots of potential but also lots of unproven talent) Agree
RB- Downgrade Most obvious

DL- Upgrade Agree
LB- Upgrade Agree
DBs- Downgrade Agree though I hope for a Push here - I think we have better talent (better potential, anyway) than what Jackson and Tolliver put out.

ST- Upgrade Agree

Guice and Williams combined for over 2000 yds and 22 TDs. If we get that production out of our run game this season we better have at least 10 wins because our D and passing offense should eclipse 2017.
