Katrina was on a Monday. When did they call you? When did they make the descision to move the game?

The Tenn game was a week later after Katrina. I think it was delayed because of a 2nd storm that came through.

It was Rita

LSU Tenn was delayed so long because LSU was being used as a makeshift triage.

Gotcha. That period of time is a blur to me as I was dealing with losing my home in Katrina.

Good luck to you!!

Has there been any word at all from the SEC? Don't they make the final call?

Gainesville will be as close to the current projected path of this storm as BTR was to Karina. We all know how that worked out for BTR. Laughing at Jeremy Folley.

From the UF website:

"Hurricane Matthew Alert

October 5, 2016 - 4:45pm

The University of Florida is cancelling classes and closing offices in Gainesville/Alachua County for Friday, October 7.

P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School will follow the UF closure schedule. Only essential university personnel should report for work. Health Science Center clinical personnel should check with their supervisors as to whether they should report for work. UF Shands Hospital will continue with normal operations."

So WTF, this sage and obvious advise for the campus community, but you people from out of town, come on over, we can't possible move this game... Do you send 500+ employees, student athletes and musicians into the cone of stupidity? I know home field advantage is nice, but we don't need to jam more people in the outer touch of a Cat3 or 4 storm. They have to travel there Friday to be there for a Sat 11am game. I guess Thursday afternoon leaves enough time to get a better idea of where the cone of stupidity spans and what will be going on in Gville Saturday morning. Thing is supposed to roll through Friday afternoon, by Sat moring, up by Georgia. Maybe nice weather and a damp field by 11 am Sat. morning.

You laugh, but Foley is just doing what he has to to get his team in the SEC title game.

Looks like GV up to 80% probability of TS force winds. Here's a link to all the models on one webpage.

I may be missing something but I think Florida should be forced to forfeit in event of a cancelation. They have been given viable alternatives and are refusing to accept offers to play the game.

If the game is canceled they take the loss as it seems since there are no repercussions (possible advantage for them even) they should be told no game you forfeit now is your stance still the same?

Game can't be moved at his point. It's too late. Hopefully we can get it in at some point. Although quibbling about the game seems silly when we are looking at the probability of loss of life on the Florida coast. Scary shite man

Wow. Keeping the game there seems excessively irresponsible.

The sad part is I would bet money that if the game gets canceled Florida won't be forced to forfeit.

Its off the books as a non played game.
