As is the case of every road game, weddings are planned a yr in advance to take advantage of LSU playing on the road.

Anyone who plans their wedding on the day of the Florida game, home or away, sucks regardless. So I don't feel bad for them at all.

I'm more shocked at the number of UF fans that appear to be utterly ignorant regarding hurricanes.

+1

the best is "it'll be up near georgia at gametime"
Have they ever seen the wake of a hurricane? and I dont mean a tropical wave. I mean a true big cat 4/5 hurricane. Shite is messed up for weeks.

If the game time is changed, this will be the second year in a row we've planned to have my son's birthday party at the same time as an away game, so we can set up a TV outside and let the kids run around, and I can grill and watch, and the game has been moved. My son turns 2 October 14. SC last year, now FL this year.

I guess from now on, we're going to start moving his birthday party to the first weekend in November every other year.

For the same reasons you don't plan a fall wedding in South Louisiana, you don't bone unprotected in the winter.

Really sad to see them valuing football results over human life.

It truly is unbelievable. It is obvious that game can't be played in Gainesville, just from a logistics planning standpoint. You can't schedule the game and hope. There are some very ignorant Florida fans.

That's not funny. Not because a hurricane is a serious matter. It's just not very clever.

I didn't say it was at the top of the list. He said it wasn't a factor at all

It isn't a FACTOR. Is it something that they discuss? Sure. But if you've ever worked with a disaster recovery team, there are clear decision factors that are evaluated before changes are made. That way, there aren't things like "attendance" that get in the way.

"Potential Attendance" isn't something that can be quantified in a reliable way, so it's not a factor in the decision.

This!!! I'm 60 miles inland and 60-80 west of where Katrina hit and was out of power for over a week, no stores open, no gas stations etc... their ignorance of what is about to happen is shocking to me.

I understand being upset about losing a home game but these morons need to get a grip. I really hope their administration isn't as stupid as this fan base appears to be.

Some are acting like LSU is actively trying to frick them here.

I haven't looked...are they playing in Miami or Tallahassee?

There's a big difference between the two, geographically.
