Seems simple enough to me: Tigers win out and Ala. and Ga. make playoffs. Agreed? This seems very probable but I've not seen a lot of posts around this scenario. We'll know a lot more after this weekend. Both Georgia and Alabama should win but their opponents (Auburn and Moo State) are formidable. Let it happen. Geaux Tigers!

there isn't an at large sugar bowl this year. sugar is one of the semifinals. cotton, fiesta, orange, peach are the remaining 4 of the "new years 6". id love to make the peach for distance reasons and selfishness. whichever bowl we make, I guarantee everyone will bitch about it. ("im sick of dallas. we open in dallas next year. I hate the chicken bowl. Glendale is too far. Miami is too far") hell, if you had told me in august we'd make a new years 6, I would've signed the agreement. id love to be in the NY6. Good look for the program and for recruiting.

Exhibit A in support of how stupid a portion of our fan base is. And they’re in control of the program now.

Over the past couple years I’m starting to figure out that the majority of the people here don’t watch College Football. These are one of those examples

Wish they had different bowls for the playoffs and kept the normal bowls out of it. Love watching the Sugar Bowl and Orange Bowl normally.

Any idea which bowl takes the sugars SEC champion ( or thier replacement) tie-in the sugar traditionally has? Or they just assuming Bama will represent the SEC in the playoffs so who cares.

at this point, I think it all goes back to bowl politics. keeping it regional for ticket sales. I think a very popular and talked about scenario is lsu vs ou in the cotton. makes perfect sense in the bowl committee/ticket realm. big 12 vs sec and essentially halfway between campuses. game of regional interest with large out of state support/fan base and boosters residing in texas. if youre a cotton bowl committee member and trying to sell tickets, what other 2 teams would you pick from? that, of course, Is assuming things stay as is.

People’s responses are more ignorant than the OP. People don’t have the 100% perfect knowledge that this board obviously possesses.

Can we get a sticky so we can prevent 465 Sugar Bowl threads from being made in the next few weeks?

No one has said this. There is nothing wrong with being ignorant of certain things. What is wrong is wallowing in and openly celebrating ignorance. That, unfortunately, is a hallmark of a certain portion of Louisiana’s population.
