Already play them a handful of times per decade anyway. Come on down, take a beating, grab the check, go back to Ruston. Same as usual

This bullshite playing instate schools has to stop. Nothing more than a chicken in every pot.

If LSU is going to play Group of Five schools or lower, I'd rather that money stay in-state and help another Louisiana athletic department out. Whether it's an early season tune-up game or a mid-season reprieve, these types of games aren't going away anytime soon, if ever.

Not kidding. We use to pay instate teams 1 million to play us. Now I see 1.6 million is the new fee.

We will have to pay some team, I’d rather that money go instate instead of my tax dollars making up that 1.6 million in their AD budget.

One of my favorite postgame calls of all time was in 2009 after LSU sleepwalked to a 24-16 victory against Louisiana Tech with Jarrett Lee playing for an injured Jordan Jefferson a week after the Patrick Peterson "interception" against Alabama.

A Louisiana Tech fan calls in pumped up about the close loss and says how it would be great if LSU and Louisiana Tech could expand the "rivalry" and play every season. And Hanagriff blew up and cut him off and ranted for a while about LSU will never be a football rival to another in state school. It would have been a great post on the Rant.

Tell me you haven't paid attention to LA Tech baseball without telling me that.

Yes, my nephew will get a chance to play against LSU. LSU is my favorite team and La. Tech is my favorite team, also.

In 2025 you don’t know what either team will look like to make such an asinine statement.

This is legitimately not even close to being anything in the hemisphere of relevant or important. This is up there with "Walmart will have a sale on wrapping paper sometime in January of 2026".

Obscene, why don’t they keep the money local and play Broadmoor?

What. LSU should whip Tech no matter what the teams look like.

Not like he said that about playing Clemson.

Either LSU will be in position to give La. Tech a beating or we'll be trying to find a way out of Brian Kelly's contract. If LSU is right, it will be a beating. It's far from an asinine statement. It's what it should be with proper coaching.

Terrible take. Tech isn’t McNeese. Or even USL. They are clearly the 2nd best FBS program in Louisiana the past 20 years or so (USL has been a little better the past couple years under Napier). Hell, they beat Bama twice in the late 90s, once in a season when they won the SEC. We’ll beat them, but it’s not some bullshite charity move like your dumb fricking arse suggests.
