Yep. LSU needs to make up that lost revenue somehow.

It's already been reported by the LSU Athletic Department that they are making more money from the Oregon game than they would having a rent a win come in and play LSU in TS.

They're really missing two home games next season.

The 12 game season is 3 years old. We've only had one 8 home game season and 2 7 game since its inception.

Dude STFU.... You are an asian math major that only form of transportation you have is the 10 speed bike you bought at the pawn shop on the corner of nicholson and w grant.

Obviously you dont care how much parking costs.

5 years old (not including trial seasons 02-03)
2 season with 8 home games

Just to make sure accurate facts are on the table.

Correct. I choose not to go to all the games.

(1) People are going to scatter farther away from campus now to tailgate and as a result trash will infiltrate areas not serviced by LSU.

(2) Smaller tailgating groups means less money spent on tailgating = less money for baton rouge economy

(3) More fees and a poor season like losing 3 games, LSU is setting themselves up for a huge fall. People are going to simply not pay $540 for tailgating for a year plus a 4K for 4 tickets

Thanks, I wasn't counting this year and thought it started in 2007.

Is there any type of public backlash, other than not showing up on campus next year, that could get them to change and/or cancel this policy?

I think they released this info at the most opportune time.

Most won't find out about this until tomorrow, which leaves only a couple days to form some kind of protest on Saturday--which is the last real chance to do anything about it until the beginning of next season.

Christmas and Thanksgiving are coming up; Then it will be too cold for anyone to want to protest outside until March or April. Then it will be baseball season. On top of that, the Draconian budget cuts and governor's election will be first and foremost on politician's minds.

Perfect timing. Nothing will change, and Tailgating at LSU will be a thing of the past.

Yeah, they did it on a trial basis in 2002 and 2003 then it became permanent in 2006. 06 and 08 were the 8 home game seasons.

I'm thinking about it...

That grass lot by Acadian Hall and the campus lake is going to look like a prime spot now.

So what happens when LSU starts losing a few games? (heaven forbid) Will they magically lower the parking prices at that time? I don't see people paying all this money to see a crappy product. The LSU admin has grown a huge ego and will pay for it dearly with these continued shenanigans.

I wrote my letter to the athletic dept voicing my displeasure...not that it will do any good.

Fanatic your crew will be forced to pay $40 per vehicle per game now plus trailer fees per game.

I have 2 trailers but will downsize to one trailer and I'll just park my car at a free spot and bike to the tailgate at 630am. I will probably only do 4 tailgates next year as a result

frick LSU and frick TAF. I'll take my parking fee money and put it toward a bigger TV and sit my fatass at home and watch the games. I can't wait for baseball season. If they start charging $$ to park at baseball games I swear to fricking Christ I'll choke somebody.
