Good night. What a huge get for LSU swimming. She is only here one season with her former coach, but she will trailblaze future big-time recruits taking a look at LSU.

I will certainly be in the Nat this season to watch an Olympic gold medalist swim.

The athletic department needs to support this sport more. It’s amazing that the coach has been able to recruit a national champion and an olympic medalist with the worst facilities in the conference. If we can build a new tennis center for a sport that has nothing to show for it, we can build a new facility for swimming. My money is a little tied up at the moment so someone else needs to write a check.

LSU will now host a Olympic male and female swimmer this year. Think about that for a second. Huge pickup!!

1) Basketball arena

2) Baseball stadium

3) Sports medicine complex

...........

50) Swimming facility

The tennis center was funded 10 years ago in very different financial times. The pool is the pool, and it's not like we need space for fans to attend.

Also a tennis facility is cheap. It's just fencing and court surfaces. An Olympic swimming pool with a 16' diving well and adjustable platform? Not so cheap.

What’s the backstory? This seems like a terrible decision.

No inside info, but she's apparently following her old coach. Also UM might not have a scholarship for her anymore (this is basically her extra COVID year), and there may be some NIL money, too.

This is your reaction to LSU signing a olympic gold medalist?

C’mon Man. Let’s be honest…it seems a little too good to be true.

The last explanation about covid makes sense if she’s just using up eligibility and getting her masters. But to answer your question…who would forfeit a degree from Michigan to finish at LSU?
