Step back and look at this debate.
The history of LSU’s response to sexual assault, as documented in these reports and LSU’s response ( a maximin thirty day suspension) shows who we are.
And this whole thread, attempting to denigrate and humiliate those who protest sexual assaults on women, seem to reflect a prevailing view on the Rant. I take some comfort in recognizing that many of these posts are from kids.
I am not surprised. I grew up in this state.
This is who we are.
It should embarrass us, but, for the most part, it will not.
So, speaking to a different audience: are you going to send your daughter to LSU?
And the $ 25,000 gift you were considering.....

You are having this discussion on a sports message board. Were you expecting some type of intelligent philosophical discussion? There are places for those. The rant is not one of them.

Nobody on this thread is discussing sports.

If that's where she wants to go, yes. Just like I would send my son there if that's where he wants to go. What's the problem?

Les wouldn’t have hired any of those chicks.

It’s always the gals no one would touch that are the most triggered.

It's not a popular view here, but you are right. It's okay to be an alum and fan of LSU and at the same time to say that the things that have happened are not okay.
Those students in the pictures are certainly facing similar backlash from other students to what you see in this thread here on The Rant. I do commend them for standing up for what is right, even if they will be ridiculed for it.
As a father of four daughters who all love LSU, this year has made me concerned for them if they choose to go to LSU as I did. They love the Tigers, they have been to games and know every word to the fight song and love everything purple and gold.
Without seeing real change from the administration at a university level and an athletic department level, I'm not sure I would want them to head there after high school. It's staggering to me that I would even entertain that thought, as much of an LSU family as we are, but there it is. Without change, I'd rather my girls go elsewhere. :(
I do have hope that the ship is righted by the time my oldest (currently a high school freshman) is ready for college, but feet-dragging on things like the employment status of Segar and Ausberry does not inspire confidence.
I want to see change, as a man, a father, and a Tiger.

So good to see the youths stick up for their fellow sisters.
So creating hardship on people who had no power to affect the decisions is the right thing to do?

I'm sorry I don't believe in firing someone for one mistake when his bosses Joe Alleva and F. King both let these things go.
I suspect that if Verge had acted and made the crimes public, he would have been fired or removed from his position.
He was probably given the job to act as a buffer to protect the top guys.

Jesus, what a pussy.
Does it bother you that they are lying about certain people being involved?

3, 1, 4 - maybe 2 but probably pass on 2 and the rest.

After reading many of the comments on this thread, it is clear to me that many fans don’t give a shite about the sexual harassment of women.
Posted on 3/8/21 at 11:45 pm to The Pirate King
Joe Burrow would sort this shite out in 2 seconds.
