I’m gonna wager that Jay is gonna load up in the portal again and we will again have one of the best rosters in the nation.

At this point last season would you have said Anderson would be a great Friday night guy and projected to be a top 5 pick in the draft?

it wouldnt have surprised me if you told me this time last year that he would be a top pick and a great Friday guy

Any chance Cowan comes back?

I think there could be. Him, Benge, and Mayers could all come back. Age for a pitching prospect is less of an issue than a hitting prospect.

But then I look at the minor leagues and see like 5 former LSU relievers carving as starters in various levels of the minors so I feel like someone might pay him enough to leave.

If LSU has a starting rotation of
Fri-Schmidt
Sat-Evans
Sun-Rizy
Can they win in the SEC (better than.500)?

Evans will be the Friday guy.

I think you'll 100% add a couple of starting quality arms heading into the year.

Rizy and Schmidt need to have a ton of development in the off-season. It can certainly happen

I think it will be Evans and two transfers

I know this is a 2026 thread but Project mentioned Benge. Is he a forgotten man for the rest of this year?

We will have another Anthony Eysnson type transfer that will be a weekend starter. Who on here including me had heard of him before he committed last year?

We often don't know what the SEC weekend rotation is going to be when we start a season in OOC play. Much less before transfer portal and fall ball. It's quite an impossibility to predict such a thing at this juncture.

Honestly I could see Cowan being a Griffin Herring type situation where he could use another year, but he’s got the stuff that they’ll pay him now.

Cowan was in Herring's shoes last year. He was also a draft eligible sophomore.
