The team started fast and loose. Jet sweep with Dontae, screen pass to Guice - two true freshmen and a defensive player on offense. Then, a bomb to Malachi. When have we seen that kind of variety in 5 plays against an opening FCS opponent? LSU normally plays very conservatively.

Then, on defense, we are blitzing, sending safeties, attacking the ball. Defenders were flying everywhere.

Just watching those 8 plays, the energy was off the charts but the play calling on both offense and defense matched the athleticism on the team, which we NEVER see.

Perhaps the coaches know what we have here and are going to go all out this year? Maybe the players are ready?

It just looked different than what I am used to seeing.

I love how we're trying to dissect literally less than five minutes of gameplay.

The game that never happened is the most analyzed 8 seconds since the JFK assassination.

What else are we supposed to do?

Why not?

I just watched the video. LSU usually starts out slow/conservative. They did not last night. It was different.

Hey, we got a little hint about our defense. I guess we will get the full picture at Moo U.

We had two throws. One was backwards, and one was deep. That's reminiscent of what's been happening for many years. No short or medium passing game.

We also had a predictable toss dive and a predictable jet sweep, which was reminiscent of Russell Shepard.

McNeese was well prepared for every play. Does anybody think SEC coaches will be less prepared than McNeese coaches were? Les Miles is as predictable as the sun.

3 of the 5 plays were extremely predictable.

the first play being the toss dive was so easy to read when we have a tight end and full back in the game.

Then while i love getting our young guys in on the action early it was pretty easily snuffed out by mcneese what was happening when jackson and guice came on the field.

Ill reserve judgement until we see a full game but saying we were doing something different in the five plays we saw is a bit wrong.

im not happy to say this but Harris obviously missed an easy TD to Dupre who got behind the secondary but had to stop and turn around for the ball.

felt pretty much like a continuation of stuff we were doing last yr. biggest difference was the amt of freshmen I saw on offense in the first handful of plays. Guice, Donte, Brosette and Jazz in that early was a tad surprising.

It was his first pass past the LOS in 2015. Sheesh.

It looked like Harris double clutched. Seems like he anticipated Dupre coming open initially but second guessed himself which forced him to reset then make the throw.

yeah the reset killed the throw. Malachi is second from the bottom here...

...it was a simple go route to the middle of the field, he was the only WR that deep, it should have been easy

Dupre wasn't his original target. He's looking right at the middle of the field first them found him behind the DB. It wasn't a perfect throw by any means but Dupre kind of looked like he misplayed it a bit. Still, that's a catch I would hope he makes down the road.

you mean the only play where we gained significant yardage.
