I agree with the idea of a slapper being the ones who take on the role of getting on base. The problem is they dont always lead off and if there is a runner on second bAse the slapper usually dont drive that run in and it takes a second hit to do it.

With all due respect, Sunseri played with i believe a stress fracture in her right foot..She could barely put her shoe on it was so painful. I know it was hard for her to walk. I dont know if it was the whole season or what but i know for sure at the end of the season she had a serious foot injury that i believe was a stress fracture - i saw Beth talk about it on an interview.

Interview I saw Torina said walking boot was just a precaution and nothing serious. Sunseri hitting issues have existed before just this year so lack of productivity wouldn’t be explained by a walking boot.
Also, how would you know, “she could barely put her shoe on it was so painful”?

If you have 2 slappers in the game this happens once or twice a game. Thats why you do what Pat Murphy does and throw in a pinch hitter. LSU lacks that aspect in having a strong power right handed hitter to come off the bench and produce a run.
