I feel like an appeal should definitely happen, and LSU should pose an "Are you shittin' me?" defense.
The NCAA should punish this kid for being such poon bag and teach him to honor his commitments.

It will only be changed if Bama or Auburn get caught in the same situation. Then the SEC will say the rule is ambiguous and everything Bama or Auburn did is OK, but LSU still has to serve the penalty.

Has to be an appeal. It's too ridiculous and absurd.

Why even have this option in the rule if you're going to Indian give if the player decides to go elsewhere? LSU followed the rules. They might as well cross it out since no school is going to talk to an FAA player anymore.

We're going to be treated more unfairly than slaves by the SEC office over something stupid.

How is that a penalty on LSU when the kid doesn't show
what a fricked up rule. they'll eventually change this rule. it seems like LSU gets fricked on new rules everytime they come out. how about brad wings taunting penalty? never saw it called again against any school at any time.
Got another one. The 'illegal contact' called on LSU on Auburn's extra point (the kick was no good) that put Auburn up 10-9 on LSU """"AT"""" Auburn in 2004.
And guess what, the second chance re-kick extra point by Auburn, though called good on the field was NO GOOD.
This game prevented LSU from going to Atlanta in 2004 (which would have been 3 straight) and also was Auburn's only chance for a loss - they were undefeated that year.

I'd like to see us utilize a silent commit from 2016 to do the same thing to Bama that Nicky had this kid do to us.

The NCAA modified the financial aid agreement (FAA) in April. It continued to allowed schools “relaxed recruiting rules” for prospects who signed an financial aid agreement, but it also warned schools that they could be penalized for recruiting violations if that prospect did not eventually enroll in that school.
David Womack, Matt Womack’s father, told The Clarion-Ledger in the fall that LSU coaches were not planning to contact his son on an unlimited basis because Matt wasn’t completely firm on enrolling early or on his commitment to LSU.
“LSU is not using (the FAA) because if Matt was to change his mind they would have to report it,” David Womack told The Clarion-Ledger.
It’s unclear if any other recruit — outside of Matt Womack and the four early enrollees — signed financial aid agreements with LSU in the fall.
