There is no reason why LSU shouldn't be 5-0 after play ends on Sep 30. Furthermore, there is no reason why LSU shouldn't be 8-0 by Oct 21.

Being undefeated in October means nothing. We were #2 going into Alabama in 2015

Les wasn't the coach for Florida.

Obviously because Les was a bottom feeding sec coach who only won because of the talent left to him by Saban.

mind boggling isn't it?

guy was fired because he only won 1 west title his last 8.5 years and his sec record and sec west record since 1-9 was mediocre.

What he said isn't far off....

Les went from being a good/great coach to an average coach after the 11 NC.

LSU fired him because they went from being a championship contending team to just a good team. They may not have been visually appealing but they won.

If O can't get LSU back to 11+ and competing for championships then LSU didn't make the correct hire. People saying 9 or 10 wins is good enough are foolish, LSU had a coach that could achieve that, just not a coach they thought could win a championship.

Not every team has games like that. Up your expectations.

That's the whole point, isn't it?

Les Miles was not acceptable. I agree.

Is "Les Miles" now acceptable because he has a Cajun accent?

We made a coaching change because we wanted to return to the next level.

Orgeron should be held to that standard.

But they didn't win, so like OSU they didn't belong in the playoffs.

And until that "Talent" you talk about includes a QB & offensive line, they won't belong...

No we wouldn't. A two loss team wasn't getting in. Sugar probably but not CFP.

I respect what Etling did this season, and I am in his corner. We still need someone with more skill than Etling has to win a title ( no, I am not a Harris supporter). The offensive line seemed to improve, but we need help there especially in terms of athleticism. We have too many hulking types that cannot move their feet or bend their knees. I like Grimes, but he needs to get his lineman to be better conditioned in terms of weight and strength. Our receivers also need much better coaching. The defense was extremely well coached and played outstanding football. Obviously we need backers. We did not have the overall talent to win the title.

I'm not saying the Tigers should have beaten Bama, but they should have gone 10-1 and played them again in the CFP

LSU would have gone to the Sugar Bowl at 10-1 finishing third in the SEC.

Get real.

My rant wasn't worth it. It's just easier to call you an arse.

It amazes me that the fanbase wanted to fire him but thinks Cholly Mac was better.

Miles was 10-10 against the SEC West his last 3+ years, with elite recruiting classes.

Completely unacceptable.
