LSU scored 40+ nine times last year, only twice this year

Against South Alabama and Nicholls. Offense needs major attention this offseason. Playcalling and scheme need to be addressed. Redzone and explosive plays were terrible all season, not to mention we couldn’t run the ball.. What’s the solution going forward?

All of the SEC scoring was down this year. We have the firepower. Just can’t turn the ball over like we did. Hard to overcome giving up so many possessions.

Having a Heisman QB helps with scoring.

Players like Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers, and Brian Thomas

The offense lost pretty much their entire offense from the year before. WRs were ok but not nearly as good. The QB was not as mobile as the one before. Red zone play calling was bad.
What needs t happen is get a QB that is dual threat or Nuss needs to run more when the opportunity is there. Skill position players that can catch the ball.

This is a rant narrative that just gets repeated by morons. There has been plenty of high powered offenses that didn't have a dual threat QB. Nuss can learn to take the 4-5 yard scramble instead of throwing it away, or forcing it, when that is available, but him being a dual threat QB isn't a must to have a dominant offense. We need to have our RBs, the people who are supposed to run the ball, be able to run. We haven't had much success running with a RB since CEH.

Losing Denbrock hurts more than most realize. Or I should say not having an equal replacement.
The offense has been going backward since. That’s a red flag on coaching.

The system that LSU runs ( RPO) is better suited for a QB that you know actually has the threat of a run. If LSU was running a pro style offense, then Nuss is the guy.
Daniels was a dual threat and ran the RPO system very well. He won the Heisman. Burrow while not as mobile as Daniels ran the RPO great bc he could run and defenses had to account for him.
Nuss does not run and defenses know that. Yes LSU needs a good RB. They have that with Durham and Berry coming in should help.

But the rant told me that Sloan was actually running the offense last year, and we would be better off because Denbrock was gone.

I don't know if Sloan is the answer or not, but the offense was going to take a few steps backwards regardless of who was coaching. You lost a Heisman QB and two first round WRs.

Add another one to the “banned for not knowing what a RPO” list

There it is. Another rant narrative. Nevermind the fact that QBs almost never have designed run options in an RPO offense, we need a running QB.
People should really learn that stuff you read from posters on this board shouldn't be taken as facts.

Daniels,Nabers, and Thomas can make a lot of coaches look good.

And having zero defense giving us even more possessions for that offense.

Our OL is weak in the trenches and running game.

Not in this scheme, and not without a running game.
Thought this was obvious.

Masterful understatement. I legit LOL'd.

An RPO offense does not require a dual threat QB. And are you blaming the lack of success from the RB position on not having a dual threat QB?
