And that is with pulling most of the starters mid game on Sunday. Mizzou was a close second with 34. I don’t care if its Maine or not, that’s damn impressive.

*correction, it’s the SEC not country.

NOPE.

Not sure what stat site you're looking at but Western Carolina put up 22, 17, 18, 15, DH on Fri.

Western Carolina 18 runs per game (72 in 4)
LSU 17 runs per game (51 in 3)

Mizzou sits T31 for runs scored.

TBF 2 pitchers allowed 10 of our 15 runs.

That being said, Maine might be a bottom 5 team in all of D-1 baseball so that’s pretty woof.

I love the unrealistic expectations set up by sweeping an absolutely terrible team in February.

We swept MAINE and scored a lot of runs. Just give LSU the national title now, no need to let the rest of e season play out.

Maine is ranked higher than about 100 teams.

Maine had a .500 season last year and returned 8 of 9 in their lineup. They are bad but nowhere close to bottom 5. Several other SEC teams played teams as bad or worse. In the past couple of seasons LSU probably scores half the runs and at least one game is a nail biter. Pitching is still a question mark but this team is probably the most talented offense in college baseball. We will lose a few games because the SEC is stacked and it’s baseball but fans have every right to be excited. This team just feels different. Similar to when the 2019 football team wrecked Georgia Southern.

They aren't.

They're not good. And they haven't practiced outside yet. But they're still better than every team in the SWAC and MEAC. They're not even bottom 5 in their own conference.

Do you always get made when people celebrate setting program records?

how dare fans be happy with the offensive explosion from this weekend. Who cares if it was maine. Ive seen LSU recently struggle to put up runs against similarly bad teams. It was fun to watch and its worth being happy about.

LSU did what good teams should do to teams like Maine. It's okay to be excited/encouraged

We have to get excited now. I mean look at basketball, if we didn’t celebrate a final 4 appearance when we were 15-0 then this mid season slump would hurt even more.

For the 30th time LSU did not start the season 15-0 lol

They made it to 12-0 and lost to Auburn

We went 1-1 vs. Air Force to kick off last season and also lost a series 1-2 to Oral Roberts early on.

Just let us have this, fk

I agree it was impressive but it was Maine. Wed is a better barometer. I am still worried about pitching. Money looked great, Hilliard will be ok in the end. That was not his best start but he gets better as the season progresses. Floyd is a one time through the line up guy unless he develops more than a fast ball. The bull pin was ok except for the southeastern transfer left hander. I think they need to extend Coleman at least I hope so. I would like to see Money Friday, Coleman Sat, and Hillard Sunday.

I don't get why people get excited when it's really early in the season and LSU kicking arse to inferior teams.

It's not how you start, it's how you finish. I remember several years ago (can't remember which year), LSU was undisputed #1 in the polls only to have a bad stretch during the middle of the season and not even making it to Omaha.

Wait until they start SEC play. I'm curious to see that.
