Responding to another thread, it made me think about some of the outstanding RB tandems LSU has had. To name a few...

Hilliard - James
Toefield - Davis
Williams - Scott

there are many others but I can't think of them off the top of my head...who else?

I'm not sure Scott-Williams will go down as outstanding (as a tandem). Scott will certainly be remembered as a featured back but as a tandem, they underachieved imo.

Faulk-Mealey

Alley - Addai for about the last 8 games of 04. I hate that Alley tore up his knee, they woulda been nasty in 05.

Yeah, the Scott-Williams tandem just didn't earn a spot on that list. Each of them showed flashes, but ultimately faded.

Cleveland and Faulk were "Thunder and Lightning" in 1995. Mealey came the following year.

I had pretty high hopes for that combo. What was Cleveland's deal after 95, didn't he get hurt or something?

Did Faulk and Cecil ever actually play together? I may be wrong but I think Cecil was suspended for the first game, then Kevin got hurt for those next few games, and finally Cecil broke his leg vs. Vandy. Maybe they played a couple of quarters together in that game.

Scott and Williams sure had the talent to be great. they just seemed to disappear during crunchtime. I'll never forget williams' run against VT when he hurdled the defender and left everybody. Oh what could have been
