I thought after the $100 annual fee that you couldnt get anymore points unless you donated $1000 or more, please fill me in.

if you put in $500 .. you would initially get 7 points, then 5 points each time there after ..

Jesus you people suck at reading comprehension. your current point number stays the same. From now on all tradition fund donations will not count to your priority points. That's all.
Try reading what I wrote again....and try reading the article again and tell me whose comprehension sucks. The article clearly states "Contributions associated with tickets, such as Tradition Fund payments, will still count toward the point system for away game and post-season tickets."

I'm very aware your current PP# stays the same. However, in order to determine NEW TICKETS, LSU will have to start ranking people based SOLELY on philanthropic donations. THAT NUMBER/RANKING WILL BE DIFFERENT THAN YOUR CURRENT PP#. Your tradition fund donations will STILL count toward your PP# for determining away and bowl tickets. If this is the case, then there MUST be 2 different point rankings: 1.) which counts tradition fund donations for away games and 2.)one that only counts philanthropic donations for new tickets.

Damn, how have I never heard of this? Have they always done this and are you saying that you must have initially donated $500 when joining TAF to be able to do this, or can you do this any year?

Ok, so if you had these totals would you renew or not. I havent yet this year. We have the option to buy 4 season tickets every year and have so for the past 5 yrs. Just got into TAF just in case that option was no longer available.
Your current Priority Point total is: 8.2500
Your current Priority Point Ranking is: 7,777*

This is not good news for the average fan... the High Rollers have already donated to the "lifetime philanthropic" process (or they will just donate 5k and be on the top of the list, and then maintain with a few hundred a year)...essentially all this does is stop the ones who are "ticket resellers" from getting more tickets and letting those tickets go to the high rollers instead of the resellers... if you are giving 1K or less per year.. I would venture to say you will never get anywhere, you are already way behind lots of people...

Does anyone know if TAF makes these lists public?.. pretty sure they do not but I am curious.

We were all talking about new entrants to the program. Not who gets two tickets to the Auburn game.

If they don't reset, it wouldn't take affect until next year

They are not resetting anything.. if you gave 50k to the "philanthropic process" over the last 15 years.. you will get points and it will count to the "new ticket" list... they are basically going to take the priority lists as they are now, then subtract the "mandatory" fees associated with the tickets/parking, and use that list for new tickets.

Will we ever get to see our ranking in the second list?

I just logged in to my account and there's a priority point ranking and a philanthropic ranking listed now.

let some real fans buy the tickets.

I don't know how old you are, so this may not apply to you.

I bought season tickets for the first time in 2003 (good year to buy). I live in Atlanta and had gotten tired of scrambling for tickets when I wanted them.

I had NO problem getting season tickets that season. Called LSU up - not a problem ... and in early August. These are decent uppers too.

So, unless you are too young to have purchased tickets at that point, "real fans" had no trouble getting season tickets prior to the national championship.

I do feel for LSU students that come out of school and can't get tickets though. It's like that all over the SEC, but it still sucks.

Seats do open up every year. I would support allowing a percentage of those to go to new LSU graduates, based on their student priority system (which I don't know much about - we had no such thing when I was there).

Me too - I missed in the article whether it's a reboot of donations. I've given a fair amount of money to LSU over the years not tied to football. Mine currently looks like Bluto's GPA ... zero point zero.

No joke....it isn't like football has kept the metoric rise that prompted the first increases or even made the position static.

This saddens me even more and I let me season tickets go after 2004. I am an LSU alum and was a 8 years season ticket holder until I could not keep up with the "joneses". I love LSU and watch every game/sport I can, when I am not working, and bleed P&G but this whole system of the have and havenots continues to spiral out of control. When will they start serving the caviar and Dom in the stadium?...enjoy

Your current Priority Point total is: 9.2400
Your current Priority Point Ranking is: 7,529*
Your current Philanthropic Point total is: 6.1300
Your current Philanthropic Point Ranking is: 5,258*

Shouldn't my point totals be the same though since I don't have tickets/parking (still a student)? Last year my total was 6.13, and after I renewed early this week it was 9.24.

I think this is right. This will stop the old timers with lots of seats to use the fees from those seats aka priority points to get more. they will now have to donate above and beyond those fees to move up the priority rank. They are taking away the buying power that the old timers had and giving it solely to the rich donators. probably in some cases, the old timers and rich donators are one in the same.
