LSU Podcasts-What Attracts You, What Turns You Off?

Seems like there are more options than ever.
I get my fill from YouTube but listen more than actually watch.
Some are highly produced with slick openers, great graphics, well decorated studios with sponsors galore.
Others are less so, one or two guys giving opinions on whatever is on their minds.
Quite a few who go live seem to take a while to get to any substance as far as LSU talk goes, enough to make me wonder if they are doing so deliberately for people to find them or to trigger something in the algorithm.

*My personal preferences:
Short intros
Interesting hosts (enthusiastic, great story tellers)
Fresh takes - New Info
Good clear audio
Good lighting
Occasional graphic large enough to read
*My turn-offs:
2 minute intros
Taking 10 minutes to get up to speed
Monotonous delivery & rambling
Indignation/annoyance
Poorly thought out or researched opinions
Having a take and re-stating it 6 or 7 times (just filling time)
Poor lighting, Poor sound
Not sourcing info gleaned from elsewhere

I’d be interested in knowing what others like or dislike in their LSU podcasts. It’s booming right now, replacing tv and radio shows for many fans hungry for content.
(Shout out to Ray-Ray in Dry Prong, Kilbourne, Grosse Tete, Fourchon, Amite etc)

Taking more than two minutes to get to subject matter bothers me.

The barrier to entry for podcasting is pretty low, but the bar is pretty high to produce one that is consistently compelling and engaging. The biggest challenge is finding a host that is engaging, articulate, a good interviewer, and has actual insights into the topic of the podcast. I find a lot of sports podcasts are really just a couple of meatheads sitting around talking about stuff that really isn't very interesting. You basically have to listen an entire podcast of bullshite filler to get a couple of tidbits of interesting information. I've also listened to a lot of podcasts on topics that are really interesting, have really interesting guests, but suck because the host/interviewer is terrible. I've tried to listen to a few of the LSU podcasts and they generally have all these problems.

I haven’t found any that I love or hate. Except Blake Ruffino. I can’t listen to that fake try hard.

With the advent of the “super chat” feature it seems we’re getting more listener/viewer interaction but 99.9% of the time it’s useless commentary, just people paying to hear their name called out.
And I understand it’s another minor revenue stream for the hosts. But at the end of the day most times it brings nothing of substance of the show.

None are great, but several are decent enough. I just want info and don't care about graphics. Half the time, I have it on in background while reading or doing something else. I scroll thru YouTube and pick different ones. Mascono is ok, but I fast forward thru the first minute or so, and then again when he is pitching advertisers. He brings Shea in regularly and I like those segments. I can only take Ruffino in small spurts and seldom listen to a whole show.

I like recruiting tidbits, Shea and the TigerBait guys are pretty good with that.
Daily practice updates this time of year.
I don’t mind conversations about news of the day like the Jayden Daniels stuff or even Angel Reese melting down as long as it’s just a few minutes then move on.

I am at a point in life where I want news over opinion. So news on recruits, scrimmages & personnel, interviews w/ interesting subjects.
Turnoffs I’m seeing now:
AI thumbnails on YouTube. Zero chance I’m clicking your shite.
Begging for clicks or followers. I’m out. Let your work do the talking.
Love/fan bombing the team or players; lack of objectivity
Tagging players/recruits/coaches in X posts, especially if you have media credentials. ( you a fan or media bro?)
Using contextual information & passing it along as facts or inside information in hopes that it comes to fruition.
There’s just a lot of this in this ‘fake it or make it’ world. Originality matters. Knowledge matters. Not being a simp matters. Letting your work speak for itself matters.

i'll get roasted, but scone's locked on show is probably my go to for LSU stuff. he loads it up with a good amount of ads, just gotta skip them, but some good info, he seems to be pretty plugged in with the new staff since they came in. for national i just listen to josh pate.

He may do one that I'm unaware of, but I think Hunt could do a good job if he did a podcast. He is very measured for the most part and isn't so over the top.
If Scone man dialed it back, he could be really good. Especially if he just stopped caring what other people think. He always has to prove to you that he is in the know.

Just recently started giving Tingle and Co. a listen and have enjoyed it. They do have the super chat but it doesnt bother me. They also take a little bit to get going so I just skip forward. I think when compared to other local shows they are not trying to be obnoxious and in your face, not trying to come across as insiders, and on the flip side they arent boring/trying to fill time with pointless stuff. Its been pretty entertaining so far but ive only listed to probably 4 shows.

good to see the boys are still carrying on jordy's show. towards the end of orgeron, jordy was my absolute daily driver.
