LSU pitcher Russell Reynolds, a former Parkview Baptist star, has returned to 100 percent and has completed his rehabilitation from shoulder surgery but will not play this season. Reynolds will redshirt this season, his sophomore year.

He threw his sixth bullpen session Wednesday as part of a six-week long throwing program while recovering from a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder. He’ll complete the throwing program at the end of this week. He threw 45 pitches during the session Wednesday.

“Feels good, back to 100 percent,” he said. “Ready to get to summer ball. Only got 14 games left. No point in wasting a redshirt (this season).”

Hope so. Parkview players have always been busts.

There's 100% healthy and 100% ready to pitch in a game. He's probably the former. Glad to hear it has gone well and he'll be ready for summer.

Last season as a true freshman he started 4 games and had an ERA of 1.89 when he got injured.

That's why I'm hoping his injury doesn't derail his career.

I went to Parkview. I want someone to finally produce.

That's great news! Regardless of his future impact, I'm happy for him. That's tough having to sit there and watch everyone else while waiting for an injury to heal.

Great to hear he'll get some meaningful action in Summer Leauge. There is a huge difference between healthy and game ready, as mentioned above.

Have summer assignments begun to trickle out yet?
