LSU doesn’t need Bama to lose.

We will beat the Aggies in a rematch..... I guarantee it.

With this team's deficiencies, you sure you want them in that game?

This is wrong. We need way more to go down. Tiebreakers between 3 or more teams are done with a round robin using head to head records.
The real path… (LSU must win out)
Week 12: Arkansas, USCe, UGA all win
Week 13: Auburn over A&M, Florida over Ole Miss, UK over Texas, Oklahoma over Alabama
Week 14: Texas over A&M, Vandy over Tennessee
This puts LSU vs UGA in SECG
The real path… (LSU must win out)

LSU would not lose on tiebreakers unless they are one of two SEC teams with 3 losses. Only way in is a massive 3 loss tie

Well you’re wrong so….

The tiebreakers are so confusing, I was wrong.
To be fair, based on tiebreaking rules, all we need is to win out, Alabama and Tennessee lose at least once in SEC game

It is pretty wild that if Texas loses this weekend and all other favorites win this weekend, LSU controls their own destiny. Doesn’t seem like it should be possible.

Absolutely we want to get to that game. We could play our best game ever and win a SEC title. Regardless how bad we are, we should root to get to the Championship game

2. We have no business in the SECCG
Let’s think about the scenarios that would put LSU in the SECCG. No, LSU has not played consistently this year, but if they are tied for 1st or 2nd in the conference at 6-2 having played opponents with the best overall conference record amongst the tied teams, why would they have no business being there? (I think your first point is the key here since winning out will be a tall order given their inconsistency, but this scenario assumes they do.) Let’s look at the resumes of the other potential 2-loss teams:
Alabama - Do they belong with a loss to Vandy?
A&M - LSU, SC and A&M traded wins. A&M looked almost as bad against SC as LSU did against Bama.
Texas- Their losses would be respectable, but who have they beaten?
Georgia- They looked really bad against an Ole Miss team LSU beat.
Tennessee- Do they belong with a loss to Arkansas and needing OT to beat Florida?
Ole Miss- In addition to losing to LSU, they lost to Kentucky.
Everyone has been inconsistent. It’s not just LSU that’s looked awful at times.

Thank you good sir. Tired of hearing these pussies, who are afraid of their own shadow, wanting to avoid playing in an SEC championship for a playoff bid because they are afraid of a potential blowout. I miss the old school fan’s mindset that loved being the underdog and playing spoiler. If we don’t dominate every single minute fans lose their minds and want to quit on the season. It’s almost always the people that are terrible at their own jobs, sucked at high school sports, and play point the blame at others for all their problems…
Skip the SEC Championship…. lol wtf people…

None of this shite matters if we face plant against Vanderbilt because DJ Chester can’t block, Nuss can’t stop giving the ball to the other team, and our defensive backs couldn’t tackle someone to save their mother
What’s your damn point? All of the above scenarios are reliant on LSU WINNING OUT. That would indicate we will have to at least play better than the teams we play. The OP wasn’t guaranteeing it or even implying it. He’s just pointing out the math.

I’m sorry Mike. This is the Rant; and it’s no place for common sense takes like yours. Please ban yourself. And me too while you’re at it.

Is this right?

Win out, Tenn Loses to UGA (Nico out), Arkansas beats Texas or Mizzou (Brady Cook out for the year supposedly. It is @Arkansas)
Posted on 11/14/24 at 6:05 pm to Phillytiger9
All that is needed is:
UGA beat Tennessee & LSU win out.
Top 3 tie breaker metrics can’t be used. The 4th metric is: “Cumulative Conference winning percentage of all Conference opponents among the tied teams”
LSU is (by far) #1 and get into the SECCG.

Don’t think that is correct. Arkansas need to beat Mizzou.

Can we bump this for some clarity?
What does LSU need to happen to get in?
1. Win out
2. UGA beat UT
3. Arkansas beat Mizzou? (very unlikely)
Is that one scenario?
Any other paths?
