I read this in the ADVOCATE this morning and it shocked me. Aaron Hill, DJ LeMahieu, Charlie Furbush (great name) and Will Harris are the only major leaguers. I found this number to be very small considering how dynamic the LSU baseball team has been in recent years. Of course they have plenty (26 total) in the minor leagues and of those 26, thirteen are pitchers and thirteen are hitters.

Coleman will probably get some more mlb action, goody and rumbelow too. Mlb bullpens are always being turned over.

MLB is perhaps the most competitive professional sport. So tough to make a spot.

It's in the paper this morning so I am assuming they got it right.

They probably missed Gausman because he is on the DL. He'll throw some for their AAA, but it's just to work him back from the DL; he's still an Oriole.

Out in PHX, hope to see Aaron Hill tomorrow night for the Dbacks before I head home.

Gausman doesn't start for the Orioles anymore?

I think they missed that one. He isn't anywhere on this paper I am looking at. Good one.

Gausman is a long reliever/emergency starter as Jimenez beat him out. He is currently on the DL 1-0 with 4.50 ERA so far this year.

I think last year Long Beach State had the most with 10. I haven't seen an updated list for 2015 though.

If I remember correctly it also stated that roughly 60% of MLB players didn't go to college.

Yeah, here is the chart from last year.

I guess Louisiana produces a lot of good college ball players but doesn't have the population to get many MLB guys.

They had 8 just a few weeks back. Some youngsters come and go early on in their careers. Wouldn't be surprised to see 7 or 8 in the Bigs by seasons end.
