That’s exactly how it feels when Giles is targeted. Forced.

We saw him for the first time in half a season in the open field yesterday. No speed. No burst. No suddenness or ability to put his foot in the ground and make someone miss. He was a bit of a sales job but the weird part is the resume. He was tangibly productive elsewhere. But we need to go a different way.

Running up middle putting us in 2nd and 9 or 10, then throwing 10+ yard incompletion would put us 3rd and 9 or 10 then we’d Run a 4-5 yard pass and punt. I felt like this was Groundhog Day

Aranda was outcoached. I admit that. But Ensminger’s second half performance was unacceptable. Period point blank.

We deserve better.

Just sticky this thread now. This is the issue, full stop.

There were missed tackles and the defense was gassed. There were dropped balls, but Ensminger didn’t do shite to put that offense in position to succeed. Full. Stop.

Other than the brossette run. What did he do to counter UF taking away outside runs and squatting on short routes????

Exactly. Nothing. He’s the coach and he’s responsible regardless how u spin this. Stop being ignorant. So u think all the issues were drops? Or only o line? It was a huge shite sammixh all around after first drive and brossette run.

Outside of the final drive of the game when did we drop passes?

Yeah, I don't think the drops were much of a factor for the majority of the game. We had 3-4 of them on the last drive.

Florida getting pressure on the QB was present throughout the game, and that wasn't just on the players. 2, maybe 3 sacks, the blockers were just outnumbered and someone came clean from the blind side. That's scheme, and that's on the coaches to correct.

And the very next drive after he runs wild, with the game on the line, we trot CEH out there. Can anyone explain this?

What would you have done different

------------------------------

I would have started every fresh set of downs with a pass. Something pre-designed with a quick release knowing Georgia's D was coming and beating our left side from the second Drive of the game onward.

I saw absolutely no adjustment made at halftime in a game that needed significant changes.

So it wasn’t playcalling. Our adjustments were fine. It’s the player’s fault.

Gotcha.

Play calling was not so bad, if the plays would have been executed. The O line just couldn't block anyone, WRs weren't getting separation, Joe looked great until the pick 6 which is likely the result of all those sacks taking a toll.

Sure we could have run more first down slants, but to say that play calling was the sole cause of this loss is bogus. What about tackling, pass rush, pass blocking, catching the football, penalties, etc

I know people on here hate to criticize the players, I get it. They didn't execute and they know it. Check out D. White's twitter. At the end of the day most blame does still fall on the staff that makes millions of dollars, but I really don't hate the play calling at all.

Maybe the analysts should call the whole game. Scripted series was better than anything E called all day.

Note- spare me the responses. I’m joking. I understand the difference.

He was then rewarded by sitting the bench the following series. Excellent job by Emgsminger.

I'm so sick of hearing the WR drops excuse. In what game have we ever caught every pass? There are always a couple drops. It happens every game. The play calling and route tree still sucks. The coaches lost that game both on offense and defense. Aranda wants a 3-4 so bad but that's a really difficult defense to be successful without a warren sapp type of DT. The lineman can't beat double teams and more often than not the O lineman are able to get up on the LBers and the result is 200+ rushing yards against a team with a shitty passing offense. Shouldn't happen period. You adjust and play a 4-3 or 4-2-5 right away.

It's not hard to be productive in the Big 12 when most of the defenses play soft zones with their DB's 20 yards off the line.
