not at all. it's emotion
The man thing that separates men from boys is self-control and self-denial. Both of these qualities help one to control one's emotions. You don't like somebody at work and you'd like the punch them? A man rethinks the urge for violence because he recognizes that his action not only affect him, but potentially his wife, kids, friends and even the wife, kids and friends of the object of his rage. The pussification of America is brought on by people like you who think we need more emotion. Like we need more people to go on Dr. Phil and cry about not having a daddy or something like that. Sometimes, Slow, you just gotta man up.

these are 18-22 year olds, not 50 year old execs
even the greek philosophy you're trying to allude to did not require soicism on the battlefield

I guess you believe in Potemkin villages, too. Bill Clinton and more recently Tiger Woods tried that whole "compartmentalization" thing. It doesn't work so well. Only the naive resort to such shallow thinking.

Regardless of age, you don't appropriate behavior unless you expect it and demand it. Again, the acquiescent attitude you put forth is just more of an example of the "pussification" that you cited.

I'm not trying to emulate anyone. You mistakenly pointed to the lack of more 80's/90's UM-type behavior as the "pussification of America". You couldn't have it more backwards.

Please define. This should be fun.

warriors were not expected to be civil, especially on the battlefield. the warrior code.
true warriors were never fully part of civilized society
this is why hector's son cries when he enters the home with his helmet on, and stops when the helmet is removed
it's symbolic of this strange social dichotomy
the SAME THING exists in sports, movies, etc. anything that is larger than life is not part of ordinary society
trying to compare a game of violence played by super athletes who are on performance enhancing chemicals to ordinary society is a fool's errand

Your saying you would be ok with a LSU football team conducting itself like those Miami teams?
Posted on 12/13/09 at 2:05 pm to SlowFlowPro
Miami did go over the top in the cotton bowl against texas in 1991 but erickson had no control. You just couldnt beat their talent. Jimmy johnson was the perfect coach at the perfect time for that university. Scnellenberger would have never let that go on and would have stopped getting those recruits. Johnson kept um comin in. If u want an example of how lsu plays with attitude and swagger and a want to beat the hell out of the other team watch lsu defense v. Arizona 2006. Such an aggressive team who celebrated, had fun, and knew they were better than u

it is
America was scared of urban people acting urban, so they created rules to stop it so white people would feel better
that = pussification

Give it up man, you can't reason with SFP, he is smarter than everyone. He is all knowing, even thou he was barely out of diapers when them Miami teams were in there prime. I am just curious since he knows so much why he isn't he coaching? recruiting? or working in the media?

their apex was 2001-2002
however, i didn't have to be around to know in hindsight how badass those 80s/90s teams were

That's why so many people hate the NBA and call them thugs. It looks TOO URBAN when in reality your NBA players come from the same areas as your college football, basketball, and NFL players.lol. Oh and most of the NBA players went to your major Div 1 schools. You hit the nail on the head about the "urban" shite.

what is acting urban?
a mom having 7 illegitimate kids by the age of 35 by 4 different fathers?
drinking colt 45 out of a brown paper bag?
when the rims on your car are worth more than the car itself?
