why? they didn't do anything that just about every other program is guilty of

Uhmmmm....yeah they did. They got More money, steroids, and carried more guns than virtually any program ever (with the possible exception of the Oklahoma Sooners under Switzer). They flaunted it, didn't really even try to hide it. So, you are just wrong, if for no other reason than the sheer degree of corruption. I have no idea how old you are, but I was reasonably close to several LSU players in those days, everybody knew that Miami was beyond anyone's concept of dirty.

Why not? They beat the crap out of Texas in that game. Like the guy said Texas should have been happy that they were acting up otherwise it would have been a lot worse.

I realize that college football is more or less a semi-pro football league, so don't take my comments as naive. That said, LSU's football program is attached to the university and the coaches and players are expected to exhibit some semblance of decency and class as they wearing the purple and gold. I want to win as much as anyone, but "beating the crap" out of our opponents and acting like 13-year old brats is not and will not be condoned.

final score for that game 46-3. ill take that anytime. their kicker was even bad arse. "This place sucks lets whip their arse and get the frick out of here". I could deal with alem trying out for kicker during our rivalry game if we were up by 40

So you think winning the game 46-3 with class and sportsmanship is not possible? I don't believe that.

If you can win by the same margin are more with class why in the world would you want your school represented the other way?

as long as you're not playing dirty on the field, it should all be fair game

it's possible, but it's boring and not intimidating

We did play like Miami against Miami, ironically.

I agree and I didn't care for it and said so to LSU fans who tried to rationalize it.

We would have beaten them as bad had our guys done those things are not.

You simply fail to understand the magnitude of the Miami "situation." If it comes out LSU is as dirty as 1980's era Miami, I would hope the whole school administration would step down.

Attitude is one thing, institutionalized thuggary is something else. I had several friends recruited by football/basketball teams in the 80's, it was a different era than now but even then, Miami set the bar for being mercenaries. Thats all they were.

I think you are arguing just to argue. Which is fine, but still you fail to understand how dirty that program was.

Pocket change brotha...nothing you countered with in your argument rises to the level Miami was at in the 80's. I don't expect you to get it. You simply hate Miles and LSU in general and that blinds you from seeing degrees of corruption. Oh well, most grown ups will get it.

He obviously wasn't around at the time. Obviously. And I stand by my original statement that he has no clue as to the magnitude of the Miami situation. Just arguing to argue about something he doesn't quite understand.

Not boring to me and a 46-3 beatdown is intimidating anytime and anywhere.

1. recruiting: more players will want to play for you if they can show emotion and celebrate
2. intimidation: nothing is sweeter than destroying an opponent then letting them know you just destroyed them

Who says you can't show emotion and celebrate with your teammates. It's the look at me and taunting that's garbage.

and as for intimidation, physical domination and scoreboard is intimidation the other stuff is selfishness IMHO.

Your saying you would be ok with a LSU football team conducting itself like those Miami teams?

Not so much with on and off the field antics. But, I do agree that we need to play with more attitude on defense and confidence on offense.

I guess its my bad for attempting to reason with a guy who has a six digit post count. Clearly he doesn't get out much.

And that shite put Miami on the map in college football when they was considering dropping the program down to a lesser class.lol. Miami wasn't doing shite before then. Now they are one of the MOST popular teams in College Sports. You can find Miami gear every where. Also those "thugs" brought in A LOT of money to the school and CITY considering The U was a small private school. They put fans in the stands when Miami was barely getting 20,000 fans if that.lol. People can knock the program but they don't realize how much that program came up back then when it was almost DEAD.

Yeah I'll take thugs anyday if it's going to save my college football program, win the school a lot of national titles in a short span, put the school on the map with recruits, bring in MONEY to the school and city, ease racial tensions, etc.

Absolutely dead on...there was never a more intimidating bunch than Gene Stallings NC defense, but they act like punks.
