No team is going to win the NC with our schedule. Sorry!

I have a strong feeling Mett and his supporting casts would disagree with you. Hang in there, Tigers will do fine.

.......i agree with the schedule post. also, our defense is not strong enough to win a title. nice to have a fluid offense, but..........'defense wins championships'. the voters forgot about that when they let alabama into the 2011/2012 title game. a reminder that they won neither the conference nor the division. they didn't earn it like other teams are required to do. pure politics, money and spin !!! this sport is almost as dull as pro football; too bad that !!!

.......no negatigers in this camp. i'm a huge fan of les miles and the team. but this sport is all about politics now. it'll be a good year, though. always fun to watch this team.

Why should it have been us and not them? They kicked our behinds in New Orleans. Whether it was fair to be in the game really didn't matter to any objective viewer after they destroyed us in the Dome.
As the article alluded to, if not for the qb situation, LSU could have and should have won.

The schedule favors another LSU NC with two losses.

If they didn't deserve to be in the game it doesn't matter how bad the final score looked. Suppose in 2009 if voters were allowed to vote the Vikings into the Super Bowl after New Orleans beats them by a hair. Now what if they kick our asses the second time around. Did they deserve the championship? This is not even mentioning the fact that we played an additional sec champ game while bama was at home game planning for round 2. Flatiger said it best; the post-season in college football is a farce.

Huh? You just made the case for how someone could objectively view it differently: the fact that LSU had to play a rematch game against it defeated on the road. We all know that Bama won the NC that year but if the question is whether LSU "should have" won it, it's not that hard to make a case.

Will never understand how a team that didn't win its conference and loss to the champion of that conference at home gets an extra shot at that team. LSU deserved a shot to play someone else, instead had to play an extra game while Alabama could just sit back and scout them.

Frick that and the crackhead thugs who are SEC officials in Alabama that always rig the schedules for the Tide and against LSU. Les, Cam, Chavis and all the Tigers are about to lay a big one down on y'll asses. Get your asses ready for it!

Not saying LSU won't but I'd hold off on printing the shirts just yet. TCU is a very bad team that isn't going to win many and sure won't beat anybody with a pulse and UAB shouldn't even be qualifying as a D1 team. LSU may win all of them by 50 but being 3-0 with the schedule LSU has played so far is jumping the gun. Too early for anybody right now.
LSU has already wrote off Bama which is fine with me. Everybody is saying we beat A&M last year so we do it this year. JFF and A&M were not the same team. If you had played them later A&M had a much better chance of winning. A&M for sure would have smashed Florida. The Florida loss was ugly looking back now.

Only an idiot would write off a&m or bama. I am equally concerned with both games. The loss to Florida last yr was damn ugly but there were some pretty terrible personnel problems due to oline injuries. I don't care how good a team looks on paper it is next to impossible to go undefeated in college football. It doesn't help that LSU has gotten shafted in terms of scheduling the last two yrs.

I just noticed that Bama has a DB named "Ha Ha Clinton-Dix". I just thought that was funny.

It's true, our D is not stellar (yet) and I would not assure a perfect season. Regarding your comments about the 2012 NC game, I tend to agree it's all bureaucracy (lack of a better word) in the BCS or SEC- in having chosen Alabama. LSU should have played Ok St that year. I was very disappointed in hearing the news who LSU would play for the Nat'l. title. One thing they got right, though, is that they picked the 2 best teams in America during that time period, and that is fair enough.

Re: 2011. I've always wondered... if LSU had lost the regular season game to Alabama 9-6 in overtime, had a great seson that ended with LSU clearly and obviously ranked #2, would LSU fans be saying... "...nope, we didn't deserve to play in the NC, Kansas State deserved it...?"

They were the best team. The scoreline proved everybody right for voting Bama into that game. Not just the scoreline, but the way they exposed our weaknesses. That was a great year for LSU, but by the end of the season, the team had serious flaws.

I wonder why they went away from the "2 best teams" philosophy last year?

I think you know the answer to this question. They backed into it after begging and pleading for months.

That game was tailor made for them to win. Often that's how rematches play out between 2 top teams that have very similar talent. Team that won the first game goes into the rematch overconfident. Not to mention it was being played in New Orleans which only added to the overconfidence of the LSU side. The team that lost the first game has a chip on their shoulder and something to prove.

Meh, it was no more than a 2 possesstion game almost the entire game. The last TD to put it out of reach came after the game was decided. It was 6-0 for almost the entire first half, until another FG right before the half made it 9-0. Then 12-0 for a while and then 15-0. All that time the dome was still filled with nervous energy on both sides because everyone was just waiting for LSU to bust a big play and make it a one possession game. Unfortunately it just didn't happen.
