re: LSU men BBall 13-5( 1-4) 13 games left. Would 7 more wins get them to tournament?

They’re not winning 7 more games bud. Be realistic

Where are these seven wins coming from?
they’ve never been able to win on the road under McMahon.

There is one path to the tournament.
Protecting the PMAC. Win your last 6 home games. That would involve wins over top 25 Georgia, Arkansas and Alabama. Then get revenge on the road against South Caro. That gets you to 8 wins.
Probably enough to sneak in.

Be realistic
Assuming the SC game was just a fluke, they have 5 must win non-Q1 games.
Win a couple home Q1 games vs Arkansas, Bama, or UGA or they will have to steal a road win at Texas or Auburn.
It is a real possibility

Think 8 would get them in

if we were smart, we'd fire him tonight.... why wait? EVERYONE, including him, knows he's gone after this year... the rest of this season is fricked with or without him... fire him now, get the coaching search underway, and start a new fricking era, bc the McMahon era is one of the worst in LSU Basketball history.... and it's not even particularly close...

That was the question last week but we keep spinning our wheels.

Why wait till this game?
Did anyone expect us to win this game as 15 pt underdogs?

Yea……that’s not happening.

I assume you mean they’d be 20-11 (8-10).
They’d have to win two SEC tourney games for insurance and the SEC wins need 3-4 either in the road at quad one win or major upset win over an SEC top 20 team. A win against a UGA or an Alabama would help. Right now, the teams who are “our best” are smu, Mizzou, and DePaul. Not too great.

ESPN analytics has the Tigers favored in 6 of the last 12 games. If LSU comes through, you're looking at a 7-11 SEC slate. Not NCAA tournament calibre.

His best 2 players haven't played in the 5 of the 6 biggest games of the season.
Reed isn't one of the top 2 players, but he's better than Miller, and he would've given us more physicality. Chenylu wouldn't have dominated Reed like he dominated Miller.
DJ is our top player, but he was very rusty today, and yet the team still looked better with him in the game. His loss has hurt us a lot, and I expect him to be much better offensively than he was today. This was by far his worst offensive game. He shot much better against Texas Tech and SMU. Since a win in this game was a very long shot, it was good to get Thomas back for this game to help knock the rust off. He was our most consistent player, and once he gets back to normal, it will help everyone else. We'll need that to win 7 more SEC games.

You don’t have to live this way. There is help available if you want it for yourself.
