re: LSU may be ranked No. 10, but the reality is we're not a top 10 or a legitimate CFP team

LSU has a better resume than 4-6 teams ranked in front of the tigers
If LSU played any of those teams they would probably be given points by Vegas

The play off has shown that anyone below the top three is weaker. But..perhaps those weaker teams 4-12, can rise up one more time for the occasion. Make it a cinderalla thing. IF we get in we only need a few lucky breaks.

LSU has a weak offensive coordinator
It just shows that people focus on LSU and don't look around. LSUs SOS is elite and the offensive efficiency, in comparison to other teams, has not been a dumpster fire like it feels. LSU has faced some solid defenses to this point

Except for maybe, Ohio State, every team has exploitable weaknesses. I'll agree that we're not great, but hardly anyone else is, either.

10 is probably fair. LSU is not a bad team.
You can’t just grade a bad performance and say we’re not top 10. Those aren’t number ratings, they’re rankings. Look at everyone else. That’s what you base it on.

LSU laid an egg on offense and defense against OM. We lost by 5 points.
People might not like it, but you win with defense and then figure it out on offense. Our offense drastically improved Saturday night, if the D continues to be them you can win every game. That’s a reality. Our offense was 2-3 plays away at Clemson scoring 30. Florida we should have been 27 but kneeled (Miami was beating UF 12-7 with 5 mins left..:they scored to make it 19-7, then instead of kneeling they score to win 26-7. Scores don’t tell the story), SC game 2 goalline turnovers and a fluke 72 yard run. That game was literally 3 plays from 34-3 and what would ppl say?
LSU scores 20+ points every game they have a chance to win, and we will have a few games where we score in the 30’s.

I’m not sure you’re familiar with the definition of “reality.”

Name 9 teams that you know could beat us on neutral field.
Ohio State, Indiana, Georgia, Alabama, Oregon, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas Tech, possibly Vanderbilt, , Oklahoma with a healthy John Mateer, possibly Mizzou, possibly Texas.

Name 20 better than LSU

So you make a statement without providing any data points to support your claim. What was the point of the thread if you’re not going to provide interesting data to discuss as to why?

While I wouldn’t exactly call it a miracle I will be shocked if this team goes unbeaten the rest of the way or very surprised if it only loses one more game. I think the odds of it making the playoffs are low given the schedule.

Stick you head back in the sand and never come up again. You obviously have not watched any football but lsu. If you had you’d clearly see that there are no dominant teams this year. None. Zero.

Ohio St. looks invincible .

LSU with a healthy Nuss is a team to beat.

Next three games will define the season. Go at least 2-1 and we are right where we need to be for the home stretch.
Gotta beat Vandy this Sat; no excuses. Continue to play better on OFF, sans the turnovers, and bring that agressive, flying around DEF to keep Pavia in check. The same way they held Sellers in check.
PS I don't see Pyburn & others bouncing off and losing hold of Pavia. LSU wins by two scores.

I have a friend who used to say that every year, and I would tell him to list the ten that are better. He could not do it. Oh, he would list ten, but when I’d start comparing them to LSU many were worse. The error is that you (and he) think top ten is better than it really is. The tenth team in America, at the end of the season, is going to have three losses against an average schedule and maybe four losses against a tough schedule. Sounds about where LSU is tracking?

Isn’t our “ best win “ so far against Clemson also ?!?

We really need people to pass competency tests before posting. Wow
