So if the O/Raymond co-DC scenario doesn't work out because O doesn't want it, why not have Raymond be that young, new blood at the position?

This is best case scenario.

No it absolutely is not. The last time we promoted Co DC's it was a disaster.

you can have co defensive coordinators or call someone and associate HC from a compensation perspective

We need Bo. With him and Coach O, we might start pushing people around again

One scenario had defensive line coach Ed Orgeron and secondary coach Corey Raymond both being promoted as co-defensive coordinators. But it doesn't appear Orgeron has aspirations for that role, according to sources.
--------------------------------------------------------------

Read the above carefully. I don't think Coach O is interested in being a co-defensive coordinator. The report says nothing about him being offered the position of sole defensive coordinator...a position in which he just might have an interest, if offered.

I met him,LaCouture, at the most recent players dinner event. I'm taller than he is and more muscular. I'm only 6'3 285. His measurable are a lie.

His play simply isn't good enough to be drafted. I could see him being a scout team player, but that is it.

That's a fricking hack article and Jimmy Smith is a fraud. It was around 8am when word got out that Steele was leaving and your telling he knew by 11:17am who LSU was targeting? Lazy assed reporting he just poached names from last years list.

Found out yesterday morning he was leaving. This article is dated for today.

Aranda is probably realistic because Alvarez is very cheap and will not get into a bidding war. Additionally, he is very good, at least statistically.

They said during the Wisconsin bowl game that Alvarez has told HC Chryst he will be given more money for his coaching staff.

Aranda should be the #1 choice. Young, smart, did big things with that D, would be hungry to prove himself against the SEC and a big step up in pay. I like it.

I totally agree. Thanks for your courage to indicate that because we have so many emotional Tigers' fans living in denial.

LaCouture has no pash rush skills, 2 sacks,1 quarterback hurry, not many tackles for loss. In other words, he does not get in the backfield much at all. Also, he gets blocked out of his lane integrity too much.

Further, Herron as a PT player has the same number of sacks, quarterback hurries as LaCouture who is the weakest link among the DL starters.

Additionally, we need to stop experimenting with the hard worker syndrome, especially when the backup player is playing as good as the starter. LSU needs to play the most talented player on the DL. This is about winning championships.

Stats do not lie. See below.

Finally, we tried that with a former MLB, and we all knew how that turned out for the Tigers in the middle before Beckwith played.

Geaux Tigers - see you in the NCAA Playoffs in 2017.

Yes, THIS!!! We still say DJ Welter had to have naked pictures of the staff in hand before he saw the field. 1 1/2 years ago, a fast unnamed DB snatched them from his clammy little undersized hands, and the rest is history. He was benched and Beckwith was born. (Just a joke for all you closet Welter lovers-if they're still willing to admit they ever thought he should put on a jock).

...exactly. All of those "inside sources' last year who scoffed at the idea of Steele and were convinced Les was gonna hit a home run.

If O doesn't want the Co position, and wants the out right coordinator spot. I doubt he sticks around if we hire someone else.
