You guys really believe I drew names from the rant? That is beyond laughable. I remember last year the rant laughed at me when I said Steele was a leading candidate. This info is from solid, inside sources. Aranda is the most likely candidate at this point.

I hope you're right

Don't take this place so seriously. It's called The Rant for a reason.

Appreciate the info.

If LSU were to make an offer, Aranda would jump at the chance, according to a source close to him.

If this is true, then what the frick is Les waiting on?

Pendergast is likely going USC right? So that opens Aranda who was initially linked to that job after Pendergast turned it down. What are some of the negatives about him? I know he has had highly ranked D in the past few years but don't know much else about his Scheme.I know they were stout against us last time we played.

The miles clause is going to be an issue. They just need to guarantee Aranda's contract and he would be the guy.

Any one of these coaches would be outstanding IMO.
Les will have no problem getting the guy he wants, and fits in with the rest of the staff.

Please be Aranda...

He was much better than average against the run at Hawaii and Utah State and Top 25 at Wisky.

Team defensive statistics where Aranda was defensive coordinator:

Team Total Defense Passing Defense Rushing Defense

2010 Hawaii 82nd 100th 57th [11]
2011 Hawaii 73rd 92nd 53rd [12]
2012 Utah State 15th 39th 15th [13]
2013 Wisconsin 9th 25th 5th [14]
2014 Wisconsin 9th 9th 24th [15]
2015 Wisconsin 2nd 5th 4th [16]

If we get Aranda think of the hype before the first game next year at Lambo field.

He was said to be in contact with USC but reports are coming out that Pendergast is reconsidering now and will likely take the job there.

Aranda, Venables, and Pendergast are no-brainers in my book.

My preference is Pendergast, but I would bet he's the lowest % chance of grabbing.

I wouldn't cry over Coach O being promoted either. Even if 1 of those 3 are available. DL responded to him this year, technical and physical improvements. The man knows how to coach and motivate kids. I'll take lesser experience with that knowledge any day. Especially at LSU where A) talent is there and B) he's proven he can keep the talent coming in... or at least will be proven in Feb.
