Thank God Braswells lack of a bat is out of the lineup

One costly error is one too many though. I’d prefer Braswell’s defense, but I guess the hope is you build up a lead then sub him in

I agree. If we have a 3 or 4 run lead after 6 I’m bringing Braswell in.

I just don't think Reaves' bat is that much better than Braswell to sacrifice the defense, but who knows?

Taking a risk with Reaves’s iron glove but I trust Jay if he wants to go all out on offense.

Lefties mash against the starter apparently, so Jay is looking to get up big early and then he can put Braswell back in when we need the defense to help salt it away.

Hope they don’t pitch around Brown to get to Jones.

Reaves hit the shite out if the ball last time. He can hit. I have a feeling he has a game today.

Which is interesting to me because Jay's doing it a little different than he has lately. It's been defense first recently and now he's going offense first.

That West Virginia offense is damn good so it doesn't completely surprise me.

Trust me if that coach had any sense he would

Man Braswell has really just gotten stuck in the mud. I could see him being subbed in for defense if we get a lead, but going this way does make more sense for extra offensive punch early.

I could also see Arambide late if we have a lead to give Luis some rest.

It would have to be a really big lead.

Would rather Pearson over Jones at this point

He had a hit and a walk in 4 ABs and scored a run yesterday. He had a homer to close out LR. Now is the time to see if he can build on this and get fully out of his slump before Omaha.

Reaves glove worries me a bit , but man Bras has been useless batting.

About the only thing he can do at this point is sac bunt with less than 2 outs to advance base runners.

If that’s the case, why not have Pearson over Frey at DH?

I know Frey has been hot but lefties are hitting .299 against this guy. Righties .187. Run him and get into their pen asap

I agreed for a long time, but Braswell has just completely gotten into his own head at this point. He’s completely incapable at the plate, no matter who is pitching.

If we are platooning them, it makes more sense to reverse it and have Reeves in to start the game and have Braswell’s defense to close it if we get a lead.

Idk I kinda thought there was a chance Arrambide might get a start tonight. Yesterday was a tough day to be Hernandez between the heat and the ball off the kneecap

Reaves has been stinging the ball, but right at fielders. Law of averages....
